I am selling a SaaS right now, so I focus on contracts with business customers, network effect (platform), reduced cost for each additional customer I gain.
The competitors have exclusive contracts with financial data suppliers, and this way the customer has few alternatives, if they can even afford it. The only way to compete with this is to solve the problem the customer has without being able to access data. I can't outbid them. This means I need to supply the data on my own, or come up with a solution that is different, like a direct link that bypasses the middlemen.
