TLDR; Coming August, YouTube will replace the full subscriber count to abbreviated forms such as 122k, 4.3k, etc... rather than seeing 122,302 or 4,323 subscribers.

Well, it's a reminder.
Remember the C in CENTS (Control).
There are businesses such as Social Blade that solely rely on things like YouTube's Analytics API in order to give real-time data of subscriber count.
With this new update, they won't be able to provide that information.
Think about it.
If you're putting all your eggs in one basket, fully rely on Amazon, eBay, or some other platform besides your own. What happens one day if a certain policy changes and you can no longer sell your products or services? What happens if your account suddenly gets deleted (Have seen this happen with eBay.)
This short thread is meant to remind you to build or create something that YOU have control over.
P.S. It's okay to work with Amazon, eBay, and other platforms.
P.P.S But ultimately, you're going to want to build your own platform where your clients will visit you and that you have total control over. A good example I think is @MJ DeMarco's publishing company/website. Or @AllenCrawley's website.
