At the moment we are overmarketing house cleaning to our local Canadian city of 500k. Way more spend but way less leads, this despite creative and offer rotation. Audience fatigue is the likely culprit and we just need to ease up on Facebook.
We're trying to unlock Google Search Ads. No traffic yet despite many broad match terms. An ads manager will review shortly.
Kijijii, Bark, Yelp and Nextdoor don't send much of anything.. Supplements at best.
------------
So with that in mind I thought "Why not try a national side project". It goes like this:
1. Get jobs across Canada for junk removal
2. We only advertise Weds-Friday and say that we have room Monday or Tuesday (important for next step)
3. Spend Weds to Sunday hiring anyone with a truck willing to take the work. Ideally a hauler with a trailer but the "guy with truck" who's willing to get it done also works.
The thesis is that hiring is easy, getting customers is hard(er). We're looking at our own experience as we work on debugging Google for the house cleaning. Facebook, even Tiktok needs a wide area to not run out of low hanging fruit. With this national "job first then find the labor" campaign, yes there'll be no shows and regular hiring costs to account for. But never a shortage of leads and jobs.
What do you guys think of this?
PS: We're also open to building a list of haulers in 5 metros. That is a "mid hanging fruit" strategy (much easier to get jobs in smaller areas, but then you need wide coverage).
Topics to avoid to keep us on track:
"Why not just sell leads?" [because insurance, debt and mortgage is very competitive]
"Why not just sell location agnostic services?" [Hard to get clients. Home services is "easy" to get jobs for, problem is on Facebook you can exhaust local opportunities quickly]
