Hi everyone my name is Ben. A couple years ago I traveled from California to British Columbia Canada for a summer job. Long story short I never left BC and I am marrying a girl I worked with at my "one summer job".

Currently I work in a sawmill which is actually a pretty good place of employment. Honestly what I can't stand is trading so much of my time for someone else to get rich. I've always hated the idea not being in control of my own life. At the mill we earn a good wage, higher than the average Canadian and much higher than my age group. The issue here is the limitation. Starting at an entry level job at the mill, up to the retirement jobs the lifer's get, the wage increase is $5. Where is the potential for my Nissan GTR I dream about at the sawmill?

Since I first came to Canada I've had so many ideas for internet businesses. I fell into the trap of thinking, "This idea is worth millions". Trying to keep it a secret, then ultimately not doing a damn thing with it.

MJ's book taught me so many amazing lessons but two stood out to me the most.

1) Competition isn't a reason not to pursue a road.

2) I won't make it out of the slowlane when i switch from ruby, to blender, to javascript, to unity games every couple of days.

I've now pinned down the business I want to create and some of the education I'm going to need. The journey now is getting out of the sawmill and on with really living.

That's the short story about me. Now I look forward to getting to know all of you. Thanks for reading.
