Hello,

I'm running a WordPress website that has constantly 7-35 visitors on the site.

I want to upgrade the theme, have some CSS customizations done, and a new plugin installed.

Can you please advise how should the updates be made?

1. Should I create a staging version where all the changes are made and then the two sites are merged (this is an option that my host, WPX has)?
2. Should the developer download my site, do all the changes locally, and then upload it back?
3. Should we pre-prepare everything and then work on the live site? Once everything is done, the live site could be fixed in an hour.

I just wonder which way is the best and "cleanest"?

Thank you!

If you're on WPX already, taking advantage of that staging > merge option sounds like the best bet.
