The DaVinci MethodThe DaVinci Method, by Garret LoPorto.

If you’re among the 10% of the population having the extended DRD45-exon III gene, you take risks, love challenges, and can pretty much do whatever you set you mind to.

And when you decide to get involved (and you do, a lot), you go at it with a vengeance. For you it’s 100% or nothing. There’s no in-between and nothing stops you.

You know you’ll come out on top because you’ll do whatever it takes to get there, even if that means creating your own path, even if that ticks off others.

Oh, and you love playing the hero when you’re not busy questioning authority, which you probably are most of the time.

McGyver has nothing on you. Ideas come from your head with machine-gun fire frequency and you can’t make them stop (nor should you).

And no, you’re not crazy or difficult or a loose cannon (my personal favorite), and it may not be ADHD or depression or whatever. It may be you’re a DaVinci.

Check it out. It will blow your mind. Promise.

http://www.davincimethod.com

I scored 70 percent..

Not gonna buy this but it was interesting to see results. I honestly think I'm about 50-70 percent of that DaVinci personality.. So not completely that type of personality.

Just a heads up, I took the test but stopped on "Add Your Email" as obviously this is a lead-generation form which subscribes you to their list. So I can't say what I would have scored. My email addy isn't so easily given up.

BTW, this is a great lead-generation tactic -- provide a "test" or "questionairre" and require the user to give their email address to see the results. Excellent list builder, however being in this line of work, I recognize the tactic.

Only 70%, No wonder I'm not a great artist. I can put the crayons up now. I do think the questions are too generalized to be accurate (I agree with the marketing angle).

Now here is a question for you. Why is it significant to you if you aren't like Da Vinci? He was a scientist, a painter, and a free thinker, or was he? How much do we idolize the past based on perception rather than facts. Don't misunderstand; he was truly a great person in the scheme of human history, but why?

Apart from that, when was the last time you examined your own life and wondered what areas needed improvement? After all, what was said about "a life unexamined"?

We want to be like those better than us (who reached more than us), that's why there are comic book heroes etc.
There is nothing bad with not being DaVinci like, but the owner of the site claims that most of the successful people have that personality, which is just a pitch.. not everyone is the same..

Da vinci along with a laundry list of others including Ben Franklin, Thomas Jefferson, and Edison all belong to a grouping of personalities known as Renassiance humans, Universal Humans, or Polymaths.

See wikipedia

They represents our true learning and achievment capability. Full of unbounded curiosity and unwavering dedication to doing it all to get satisfaction to their query.

They are not hyperspecialist like you find in modern living, but creative generalist able to pull from a mountain of knowledge across a range of subjects and cross-relate and cross-use that information for their own pursuits. Entreprenuers by nature tend to have similar qualities but also tend to air on the side of value based thinking or Return on Investment. Whereas polymaths may gain financial only as a result of something they would have done regardless of return. Light bulbs and electricity.

They are lovers of questions and the pursuit of knowledge whether it is commercial or just matter of fact. Ideas are the exchange medium and solutions their stock.

The word Genius in its proper use is a Polymath- one who pursues knowledge for application in elegant, creative, and unexpected ways. No a statistical reference to internalized IQs.

For reference purposes, Da Vinci was not wealthy just comfortable he was not business 'wise' he had patrons his genius was in art and seeing tomorrow as a product of his thoughts today. I'm a big fan of his writings and images- designed the parachute before their was a way to get off the ground to test it.

Don't do tests you don't want to do.

He is just collecting email adresses to build his business. No wonder it is problematic building companies when no one is interested in the "give and take" relation. He gives you a fun test in promotion purposes and in return he should be entitled to recieve your email adress, no?
interesting post thank you for sharing this with us want to check it out.

Westerners will call this the "Da Vinci Method"
While some easterners will just call this "Enlightenment" lol

Here is a little self test I came up with for you to decide if your a genius or not. It is quite simple and you must be honest with yourself after reading it.

If you ask more questions throughout the day then answers you give.

You are indeed Genius.

No if and or buts about it.

If this doesn't currently apply to you do not fear.
Start by asking more questions right now
You can change anything and everything at any moment

Is the cup half full or half empty?
Is the sky blue or black?

Not sure if this is related, but I took a DISC personality type training class a few years ago. It has helped tremendously in my sales and business to be able to adapt to the 4 different personality types. Sometimes I still get thrown a curve ball when a person has multiple personalities or has low self esteem. But all in all - I highly recommend learning it and taking the test to see what your own personality type is.

It has helped to realize why I don't get along with certain types of people. D's and C's often conflict with each other. It has helped me to recognize that I need to turn down my D and turn up my I around certain types of people. By turning up my I around the S type personality (and telling that person personal info about myself) I will gain their trust. It has helped in my personal relationships by realizing that D's and I's are highly compatible.

This website (which I am not affiliated with) gives a general overview of the characteristics:

DISC - DISC Profile Characteristics

Hrm. The personality test is kind of flimsy. Each and every question is going to be true some of the time, so it's easy to just recognize situations where it's been true and go 'Yeah, I'm like that.' I got 60 on it.

As for the DISC thing... I would evaluate myself as having a lot of D, and C.

Is the cup half full or half empty?

My answer for that has always been "Was it filled half way, or drank half empty?" Few people ever like that answer. After all, the question is supposed to widen perception, but I always chose to push it away from perception, and more towards circumstance.

The thing is, they're really one and the same. If someone has a million dollars and loses half, they will see it as half empty. If someone has no money and gains half a million, they'll get very drunk and and insist you're talking about their beer, which is half empty because they drank half of it.

Wait...

Is this business model turning over anymore? If MJ tried to sell me his book through email i would buy only because of this strong community. Will anyone that takes some random test buy his book through email?

a) no credibility
b) get lost
c) get further away

If they want me to buy a product like that from someone i barely know they better get my phone number and hound me until i buy it. Seems crazy to me people make livings like this, email is soon to be a 0% response business IMO.
