Hi, for the past few months, I've been working on a platform to sell e-books, and I plan to include online courses (as videos) later.

I am a full-stack developer, so I created this platform from scratch using the Next.js framework. It functions well, but I believe the design could be improved - I lack UX skills.

Consequently, I'm considering whether I should migrate it to WordPress or Shopify, select a ready-made template, and customize it.

I understand that Shopify is the simplest solution for selling e-books, but I'm uncertain about its capabilities for video courses (people will have to sign in). WordPress, with templates like Thrive Theme or Divi, seems to offer more flexibility for both e-books and courses.

I've read in this forum that many people prefer to develop their own solutions using HTML/CSS/JS, as I have done. But perhaps I'm mistaken.

What would you suggest?

Teachable allows selling many kinds of digital products. Gumroad is a simpler alternative.

Then there are many other options. I don't understand why would anyone build their own platform unless they want to sell access to the platform and not sell their products through it.
