I've only played with real people and real money once in one tournament for a charity event and I ranked #40 out of 200... but I've always wanted to play for real at a casino table! Anyone here going to the summit want to help me overcome the fear so I don't look like a total noob?? (at some point during leisure time ofc) Might as well since I'm gonna be miles away from my comfort zone, literally.

My first time was in Reno, NV. Dealer was super nice. I let them know ahead that I was a first timer and he did a great job guiding me. The party I played with didn’t mind at all (I was free money lol).

Tip: Keep a chip ontop of your cards if you are not folding. I almost forfeited my hand many times from not touching them.

@BellaPippin, I have been to casinos before, and I play poker with my family, but, like you, I've only played in a poker tournament once at a fundraiser. I can play Texas Hold 'Em with you, but I think I might prefer Three Card Poker because then I'd only be playing against the house. I'm not sure I am strategic enough to play other players, and I don't want to be like a lamb to slaughter.

I had no idea this was an issue. Thanks!

You play against the house on the semi-circle tables!

You can show me how to play three card, (is it the one you choose which to keep? But that’s as far as I know)
But playin against people is exactly what I want to get my hands dirty on.

Can only become a lion by training with lions

I’m a tad competitive I’m not gonna lie

What helped me my first couple times at the casino was slow playing my cards a bit. I was a little more conservative until I got comfortable at the table.

Was this against the house? One of the newbie things I struggle with is that with little people they can bleed you out pretty fast if you keep folding.

I haven't played three card poker, either. I am a table game noob, just like you. I've placed a few bets at the roulette wheel for my husband, but last time that was ridiculous because it was all automated and I couldn't figure it out. Too much effort. I guess at least, since it took me so long to figure it out, that it slows down the money loss. I'll play Hold 'Em for a bit with you, though.

With other people, the house always wins. lol
I mean, i wouldn’t go all out and try to bluff a whole lot. Don’t fold pocket A’s.
