Have any of you successfully figured out a subscription model if you want to offer digital support on a product?

I've looked at other sides such as wordpress support focused ones (e.g. WordPress Support Pricing Starts from $49/hour | Get a WordPress Support Plan for your Website) and it appears they have several different billing options but I'm thinking you can't have nearly this many options unless you have several people on staff ready to take calls.

Is it better to have this hourly bill rate, or something like Design Pickle (Design Pickle - Plans and Pricing) where you just have a monthly fee and then you get unlimited support?

What have you tried in the past?
