Excellent move by Microsoft. I'm thinking the deal is over $10M for the platform switch. Ninja just literally put Mixer on the map.

Mixer had about 60,000 streamers before, I wouldn't be surprised if they get over 250K really soon.
The amount of viewers will drastically increase too.

Mixer has been there for a long time, but it's been in the shade of Twitch's success. With streamers getting upset about Twitch for various reasons lately, I don't doubt a lot of them will move over to Mixer. The platform is stable and offers lots of features already.

Wow. Didn't realize there as that much money in streaming.

I'm amazed at what makes money on YouTube/streaming/etc. I suppose that when you have 14,000,000 followers, that starts to become pretty valuable at some point. That's more people that tune into the typical broadcast TV show, by far.

My younger daughter is obsessed with these YouTube 'families.' She'll watch them doing the most mundane things. And she's not alone. Each of their videos will have millions of views - videos of them making spaghetti together, or whatever. Its truly crazy.

I will have to check Mixer out. I am about 3/4 the way to Twitch Affiliate, so I might as well take advantage of my non-status and preview Mixer.
