Hello everyone, good to meet you all.
My name is Josh, I'm 21 years old and I'm here to learn how to provide value, and build a fastlane business.
I'm a bit shy, to the point where I overthink things and psych myself out, but I've been getting better recently and gaining more confidence. I'll do my best to be an outgoing forum member, and I hope to learn from you all, and to contribute myself as I get more knowledgeable about all of this. I've read the Millionaire fastlane , and I'm currently reading unscripted . Still thinking about how to set up a fastlane business.
My plan is to quit my job and learn copywriting, and then become a freelancer on upwork for the time being so I can get used to interacting with clients and so I can learn how to provide value to each client by addressing their specific needs. While I learn about providing value from this I'll also save the funds I use from it(That don't go towards living expenses) to eventually start my fastlane business. When I figure out what that will be.

I look forward to talking to all of you :)

@lowtek I'd normally agree, but I'm moving to a new city soon as well, so I have to quit my current job anyway. Figured I'd use this opportunity to get move up from low paid hourly work up into freelancing. Also Got about 4 months of living expenses saved up as a cushion.

Welcome to the forum Tubs. Lots of great info and helpful folks here. Since you're moving to a new town anyway, I recommend you find a sales job to help you get comfortable with people. Something part time will give you time to also start your fast lane experiences and keep food on the table until you get further along. I know sales can be scary for a shy person, but it's a great skill. Look for a place that provides training and ask about the training.

Thanks for the advice. Actually held a car sales job before (October - December 2018). I actually did take it to help with my shyness and it helped quite a bit. But the job itself was pretty bad though so I left. I think dealing with clients while I freelance will help me out with my shyness. I've been getting more and more outgoing since mid last year, and will be trying to get a bit more involved in my local community once I move.

Update: Finished my first freelancing job on Upwork. Wrote an article for someone and made $30. Pretty small start, but I stopped action faking and actually took on a job so it's a win for me.

Sounds like you've known what you want.

Best of luck to you. Keep reading and keep posting. The insight and feedback here are pretty great and have helped me a lot.

Don't worry about the shyness so much to the point that you think that you can't accomplish the next step before you do years of work on your shyness. There are great leaders who have been introverted. Learn to be an effective communicator. Read books like Crucial Conversations. Once you have the tools for speaking, you lose a lot of the fear of conversation. Once you let go of the other baggage of communicating with others, being introverted or extroverted at that point will be a choice.

Yep, that's the plan. I realized that social skills are just like working out a muscle. Work it out and it'll get stronger. Leave it alone and it will atrophy. Just gonna get started working with people, push through any awkwardness I feel, and communicate with people, and my social skills will improve.
Also thanks for the book recommendation, will check it out.
Welcome to the forum.
Thanks! :)
