Hey all!

Long time lurker...rare poster but have followed this community for many years. In fact I attended the 2016 Fastlane Summit @ Talking Stick! Had this in the INSIDERS group but wanted more feedback & I'm comfortable with this being more "public" so posted on the whole forum.

For the last 8 years I've built up a business in the secondary ticketing world.....ticket scalper/broker whatever you want to call it! Our little name for it was The Ticket Magician Theticketmagician.com

Before COVID hit we were 8 full time employees and another 15-20 part time "buyers" depending on the week. Revenue for 2019 was slightly above 10 million...and profits weren't bad either.

Obviously with the virus, concerts/sports with fans are very much on pause. While that absolutely stinks, I'm not concerned about it coming back....the demand will be quite high...and we've actually been selling a decent amount for events in 2021. All encouraging.

Thankfully I've been very conservative with our finances and I'm fine with cash for the near future....but in the meantime I've gotten the itch to stay busy and create something new.

Enter what I hope will grow to become a real thing....Kevin Solves.

Essentially it’s a free consulting service for all sorts of things in people's lives. Given the circumstances we’re all in….I’m expecting people to be faced with even more challenges than normal and I want to help.

I’m talking about everything from business strategy, marketing, HR all the way to things outside the office like getting your Peloton bike earlier than they say. No joke I was quoted 2 month waiting period and I got it 2 weeks later. Things like that I’m quite resourceful with!

Over the last 10 years of building up The Ticket Magician, I’ve learned so much and feel I’m not some “guru” trying to sell myself despite not accomplishing anything.

My goal here is to really learn about what problems are out there, throw myself into helping and maybe finding areas of need in which businesses can be built.

That’s really why I’m doing it for free. Prove that I can provide value and build up a network from there in a field I’m not known in.

What I'd also like to do is document each person I help and turn those into content for Youtube.

While none of this is Fastlane, I do hope that something Fastlane will come out of it.

As of today, I've sent the website/video out to my Linkedin network and FB. This is the 3rd place I've broadcasted it.

My plan is to post on my Instagram shortly, some reddit threads and then target individual people in my Linkedin network with personal messages.

Will be sure to keep this updated as we go.

1st "stranger" reached out wanting some mentorship on things he's working on.

He sent me this very comprehensive note about all the things going on....exciting!

Reached out to me off a reddit post I made.

Going to spend some time with him on a call tomorrow.....will report back!

Even if you get 10 random people to reach out they each need something totally different and it might not move you forward in any way.
Consider running a few specific offers instead of one general one.

For instance...I could do the following ads/videos/offers etc for

  1. Mentorship
  2. Business Problems(drill down more specifically here even?)
  3. Personal Challenges like Contractor negotiation etc

Had my 1st 2 calls yesterday.

One from Maryland and one from freaking Australia!

So crazy.

Both went really well and made me feel like I can really make an impact in peoples lives.

The common thread with both: looking for mentorship/advice in how to leave their 9-5's and turn side hustles into stable full time incomes.

Given this is exactly what I did almost 10 years ago, I feel comfortable giving advice on this.

@kleine2 mentioned being more specific....perhaps the market is already telling me this is a good avenue for me. I know it's only 2 people....but it's something!

I have some ideas as to how to broaden my reach with this but was hoping to get some advice from the minds here........if you were me how would you get the word out?

I think it's a great niche. A lot of people want this. On this forum as well.
Think about getting more specific.
Do you work with people that have reached a certain level of income but still far from going full time on their business? Or people just starting out on this path and thinking about which business they should start? Or people that already have significant enough income but are just scared to take "the leap"?

I've done a decent amount of calls and follow ups the last 2 weeks, and I've REALLY enjoyed it. Learned a ton and have brought value to everyone.
