This has happened to me several times and today I really noticed it and how to benefit.
So, you have a list of all these things you have to do: pay some bills online,go get your vaccine, try to get your PPP loan forgiven, call the unemployment office, kick out a tenant, do your taxes, clean the crap off the garage floor so you can put the car back in there, go buy a new pillow to replace the one you puked on, rehab the property, go cut down that tree at you mom's house.
So, if you were to go REHAB THE PROPERTY you just bought to rent out, you get home 8 hours later and your list is still just as long! So, that's not good! But, what if you were to spend 60 minutes emailing the lady at the bank about the PPP loan and the lady about unemployment, go get your shot at Walmart pharmacy while buying a new pillow, and come home and clean the garage floor? You just did 4 things. I'm going to cross them off the list above...done.
Brian Tracy wrote Eat That Frog!. A good book but it says to tackle your biggest, ugliest task first. I say this is good for your JOB. But, as you can see above, rehabbing the house could take months. Me doing all these little things first really made me feel good. It's like paying off all the small loans first and then just having one for the house. Clear out the little shit first then focus on the big is sometimes the best way!
