Side hustle fell through, £0 income, guess I'm going all in

Anything considered a "hustle" and not necessarily a CENTS-based Fastlane

My side hustle was dependent on multiple external factors and I knew it would only work temporarily. It paid my bills for a few months so I'm thankful for that! Currently I have £220, I'm going to spend half of that this week on my internet bill and food for the month. I have bills coming out around the 20th-24th so my only option is to make money now. Initially I was hoping to spend this month learning more about what businesses want exactly, how I can best help, learning what I don't know well yet, etc. and get into taking on clients at the start of next year. Instead I'm going to start now as I've never been in debt, have no credit, and don't want to change that!

Here's my plan for the rest of this week:
-Go down my messages / continue replying to FLFers who are interested in Facebook marketing
-Try find a good time to call FLFers who gave me their number (I don't have a good living/home situation so I've been anxious about this, but I need to just get over it)
-Begin messaging some of the businesses I've flagged up who have no/little Facebook presence.
One of them turns over £5-10 billion and although I'm not sure of the chances of little me coming along and snatching their entire marketing budget, I'm at least going to let them know how I could help as they hired a social media executive 7 months ago yet their Instagram hasn't been updated in 5 months and they have zero Facebook presence!

Create a twitter account.

Create a lead magnet. Something valuable related to Facebook marketing.

Nothing obvious and overdone like:

21 ways to make retargeting work for you...

Use your lead magnet instead to drive a central theme or point about how you do Facebook marketing.

Example:

How to use the 1-2 Pixel strategy to drive leads for pennies using Facebook ads.

Stick the lead magnet in your bio on Twitter.

Do 20 tweets and 2 threads from sections in your lead magnet.

Next step:

Search for 10 big accounts in your niche.

DM anyone that likes/retweets or engages with their tweets.

This becomes your lead acquisition channel.

100s of people per day to reach out to.

What about that DM?

You are going to use the 4-point touch system.

You are going to send 4 DMs to everyone you reach out to?

Why?

It takes 4-7 touches to convert a lead to sale on the average.

Keeps you top of mind.

Prevents you from being desperate.

Helps you provide more value.

DM 1:

Ask a generic question related to something they tweeted or related to Facebook marketing.

Example:

I see you own an e-commerce store. Do you do any paid traffic?

You don’t sell directly with your DMs.

You use a signature instead to do the selling.

So, under every DM you have a signature that says:

I help e-commerce stores drive thousands of leads for pennies using the 1-2 Pixel strategy.

DM 2:

Send a thank you DM if they reply to your generic questions.

Then ask if you can send them your lead magnet that will break down how you do what you do to help people in your niche.

Don’t forget to attach your signature.

DM 3

Send the lead magnet if they accept.

Then send a link to your email newsletter.

DM 4

Hard sale.

This is your last touch point. Just come out and softly pitch them. Tell them how you can help them and ask them to get on a call.

That’s it. That’s the post.

Sounds like a good method! Although I'm surprised at Twitter. I'll give it a go. Does it matter that I have no followers/brand/tweets? I'm not an active Twitter user

Guess I need to get started on a lead magnet!

Doesn’t have to be twitter.

Go where your audience is.

It could be Facebook, LinkedIn or even Instagram.

It doesn’t matter you have no tweets/followers or active page.

We’ve all got to start somewhere.

That’s why it pays to have a solid lead magnet and a powerful central idea.

People will see you as an expert if you have a resonating idea even if you just showed up.

I bought a course recently off someone using this exact strategy on Insta.

He had just 12 followers and a couple of posts.

But he sold an idea that resonated and I threw cash at him.

His idea?

No money for premium lifestyle photography shots for your Ecom products to post on insta?

No worries. Use this bandwagon strategy.

Resonated!

Didn’t need to see huge follower count or posts.

Take my money.

You’re fine if your offer and lead magnet Fixes a gap in your niche.

Makes sense, I wasn't sure if there was something special about Twitter. I had been thinking more of Instagram so I'm glad to hear that!

I don’t understand, you mentioned £0. Does that mean you have no income coming in from anywhere? Why don’t you get a job and whatever you’re doing right now have it be your side hustle.

I'm in the UK, you can't really get a job in 2 weeks. I've been applying since I joined FLF and got that advice but I think the avg job-hunt here is 3 months. By that point I will have clients or be working on my own idea if I get the cash, but it's a good back up I know

There is nothing like a deadline to focus you into action. Hustle, you'll find a way.

What you need to do ultimately though is to divorce yourself from your business so you can cut the tie between time and money.

Definitely!

What do you mean by that last point?

Build your business so that you are not the pivot. So that your business can run without you or at the very least so you don't have to get paid per hour.
