UBI is a socialist dream and the aftermath of our education system pumping out vast swaths of Marxist adults ill-prepared for the advancing technology world. Instead of adults equipped with degrees in engineering, robotics, and programming, we have an adults armed with degrees in art history, gender studies, and 16th century poetry. Yea, that's why UBI might be ultimately come to pass -- not because its a good idea, but because the people with bad ideas keep pushing more bad ideas to fix their last bad idea.

Yeah he does make a good point though. Once we have fully autonomous robots we will lose a lot of jobs and I'm sure not how they will be reallocated with advanced robots.

Hell, self-driving semi-trucks are on the horizon and that will wipe out the most common job in all 50 states, truck driver. That will lead to some big problems.

The government doesn't give out anything for free or without an overarching purpose. My guess is UBI will be used to create a big serf class that will not threaten the power of the government/elite/whatever you want to call them, which is why all these billionaires are pushing for it.

Definitely worth giving a try!

  • It gives you full control of your opponent. A strike can be slipped or countered, but a choke is a choke. Doesn't matter how big you are or how much you train, it just takes 3-4 seconds to cut the blood to the brain and make someone unconscious.
  • You can disarm an opponent without really hurting them... Or you can kill them. When manipulating the human body, there are endless possibilities.
  • You can punch and kick? Once I take control of your legs there's nothing you can do.
  • Every class as sparring, so you're always testing yourself. You get real confidence in your abilities, and you learn to control the adrenaline rush that happens in combat.
  • It's an extremely scientific approach to fighting, everything that's talked about can be put into practice.
When you first start, it will probably make no sense. The learning curb is pretty steep, but if you keep at it your body will instinctually start knowing what to do.

Just like anything else, more you practice and seek to understand, the better you will become!

Also, there's TONS of YouTube videos out there you can use to help yourself learn.

The Gracie's are scum of the earth. I followed them since UFC 2 all the way till Saku annihilated them in Pride.

Anyone else hear about 6ix9ine? He’s facing 32 years to life.

Yeah, did hear about that.

It's hard to say anything without knowing the facts and evidence especially since federal complaints are sealed.

But thats the thing about just being around stuff like that cause federal law considers you an accessory.

Would suck though being so young and spending a few years in prison especially after seeing some huge success and have basically won your freedom.

But as the saying goes you can Indict a ham sandwich.

Didn't watch the video but I'll say this:

Notice how no Gracies are dominating MMA right now, just coaching some fighters. They cling to BJJ and have become the very thing that held martial arts back: close-minded tradition. BJJ is a style, but not the ultimate answer to everything, but the Gracies refuse to acknowledge that and grow.

And there's the Royce being caught doping...

And yes, Saku did annihilate them. Once again, it shows while they did contribute a lot to martial arts, they aren't demigods.

Like Bruce Lee said, styles aren't real, it's just various ways of moving the human body, and you could call it anything. BJJ is ultimately just ground grappling taught in a formalized system.

Yeah, obviously he's innocent until proven guilty. Snoop caught a case when he was just starting out too, almost went away for a long time. Similary, Snoop was mainly caught up in what Suge Knight was into, so maybe for Tekashi it's the same. Hopefully this will be a wake up call to watch the company he keeps.

Do yourself a favour and watch the mini documentary. Helio Gracie is a scumbag and a sore loser. Unknown fact about UFC 1-5, it was a commercial for Gracie Jiu Jitsu. They made sure that no one knew how to grapple by way of interview. There were plenty of guys in Brazil who could have beaten Royce like Marco Ruas and hugo duarte, not to mention all of the catch wrestlers around the world who trained under Gotch, Inoki, and Lebelle.

I doubt it. Have you seen Ruby Ridge? I just don't see the feds getting those people to hand over their guns.

But as the Zen master said, "we'll see." History can be pretty strange sometimes.

About a century ago, roughly 90% of people in the US were involved in farming. Now that number's about 2%. What a disaster, all those jobs lost due to automation meant everyone had to get universal basic income.

In Europe this summer, my favorite afternoon snack was Museli mixed with yogurt. Museli is like a cereal... grains/nuts/dried fruit... 100% awesome stuff. The store we went to had like 20+ different varieties.

I've only found one box of "museli" here, at Kroger. But it had 12g of added sugar per serving... about double what's in sugary kid's cereal.

It's a real disappointment. I have to check the sugar content of everything before I buy it. It gets old.

Flavored Sugar!

I think, man, why to add sugar to anything when the point of it is just eating more sugar.

Lets add any artificial flavor to sugar:
-Musli tasting sugar? Here you go.
-Donut tasting sugar? Ofcourse.

Get one pound bag of "Sugar-o-Flavor" and spoon - voila! No cooking needed.

Employment in agriculture (% of total employment) (modeled ILO estimate) | Data

Agriculture stands for 1.66% of the total employment in the US as of 2017. That's only employment though, so it's not the complete picture.

Yup, and it's impossible for any politician to compete with another politician who promises "FREE" and "NO WORK". It will be the end of the two party system. And the end of the Republic.

People are missing the tectonic shift that's happening / going to happen in labor. They think it'll be just like the past: jobs go away in one area (farm workers, telephone operators, buggy-whip makers, whatever) so you just go get a job in another area.

I don't think it's going to work that way this time, or soon. There might not BE any jobs in other areas.

The difference this time is that automation could end up displacing ALL low-end workers. Automation willl start out replacing low-skill repetitive jobs, but it will replace more and more jobs as the technology advances. If automation replaces ALL jobs that a low-level employee can hold, those employees will have nowhere to go. Some people are well-matched to driving a truck or picking lettuce, but they are not capable of being a Machine Learning tech or a web designer. Obviously this won't happen overnight, but when automation replaces ALL of those driving/picking jobs, those people will effectively be UN-employable.

That's where I think you have to seriously consider UBI. People on the low end will have no other way to feed themselves. UBI in this case isn't an airy-fairy utopia idea -- it's a last-ditch defense against massive riots and revolt. (Though how you keep those idle hands out of trouble is another question...)

As a former club pro myself I was temporarily excited by the idea of having exhibition matches back but this missed the mark by miles. If these two were battling at Augusta on Sunday afternoon to win the Masters, count me in. Yesterday? Even if I got paid to watch I still would’ve skipped it.

Having said that...kudos to them for leveraging their brands for a multimillion dollar payday.

They'll keep the easily manipulated and docile as a serf class that is satisfied with UBI, sex robots, and virtual reality. Not going to want to protest when you're busy in virtual reality.

The more rebellious groups can be destroyed.

This is basically the world in Brave New World by the way. It's probably a Black Mirror episode too.

I'll be astonished if we don't see that scenario start to play out within 20 years. Possibly as little as 10.

Consider how far things have come, how fast. In 2000 the concept of a self-driving vehicle was total science fiction. In 2004 DARPA sponsored an autonomous-vehicle race, on a closed course, with a million-dollar purse for the winner. NObody won -- most of the cars died or crashed or otherwised DQ'd within the first mile or two. The best car only made it 7 miles before getting hung up. 14 years later we have consumer sedans that can navigate through live city traffic!!! That's an ENORMOUS advance in a very short time.

And that advance is bringing things very close to the disappearing-jobs situation I mentioned. Driving (trucks, buses, taxis, shuttles, etc) is the largest single employer of adult males in the US. In 2014 "Truck Driver" was the #1 job in 30 states. Those driving jobs will be endangered within just a few years.

Let technology keep advancing for another 15-20 years and I think you'll be amazed where we are. Hell I'm amazed where we are NOW.
