Apologies if I'm being a bit slow here but in Unscripted , (p.271 of my Kindle copy) MJ talks about,
'... a friend who buys poorly marketed and designed websites. Once he acquires the sites he retools, redesigns and grows the bottom line. Then he sells them off for profit.'
Can someone please explain this to me? How do you buy a website off someone (not just the name, but the site itself) - is this a transfer of Intellectual Property - if so, that sounds a little complicated? And what's the benefit of doing so? If I see that your website marketing widgets isn't doing very well, why would I buy yours? Why not just make my own and target your audience? That's surely less hassle?
I'm missing something here, aren't I?
