Hi guys

I have some problem with my business venture and I would like to ask your opinion.

For the 5 months, I have been building my website in the pets/ vet industry. My idea was to create some kind of search engine to find
vet specialist compare prices and offers.
I almost make it done, but I recently found out that promotion of vet industry is forbidden in my country by law (you can promote your offer
and services, but the price cannot be included in ads). Without information about price of offers, relative value of my web will be much lower comparing to other
such type webs. I don't know what I suppose to do know. Finish my web (lawfully) or look for something else.

I know that it is my fault that I didn't check it before I started.

Please tell what do you think about it

You say you found out that it's illegal. How did you find this out? Did you speak to a lawyer or some other kind of knowledgable advisor about this? Is it possible you're misinterpreting the law, or that it's technically on the books but not really enforced? Basically, step one is make sure you're not abandoning this thing over rumor or fear.

Some other options: Could you mask the pricing? Use relative indicators instead of absolute prices (like $ vs $$$). Default sort by lowest to highest price?

Could you launch it in a different country, with less silly arbitrary rules?

Could you pivot the code you have into a different space where you're not running up against silly arbitrary rules?

Answering to the first part of thread: I found out that ads which includes prices are illegal from another similar website. There was information that they cannot show price because this is forbidden by law. Then I started looking on the Internet for more information and a few other sites confirms that information. But, as you suggest, I didn't ask any advisor.

Your advice using relative indicators. Technically it is possible, but again I am not sure is it ok with law. As I found information in Resolution of the National Council of Veterinary Medicine

Public information cannot:
1/ bear the characteristics of advertising;
2/ contain price information.

Public information in this case mean any kind of information related to veterinarian. Again I am sure if indicators aren't price information.

"Could you pivot the code you have into a different space where you're not running up against silly arbitrary rules?"
I think it is possible, it will require some work, but it can be done. And if I will not find any solution to my previous idea I guess I will try in another industry
