I am confused about which branch to choose for B.tech. I have two Branches In my mind: computer science and mechanical engineering. Here are some points about them:
Computer science:
  • Software engineering will pay better.
  • I have prior knowledge related to coding.
  • I can get a job in 3rd year of B.tech and internships in 2nd year.
  • I can earn $20000 or more per annum by doing a job.
  • I will still start a company if I do CSE.
  • I may move to a different country or state.
Mechanical engineering:
  • I am weak in physics, chemistry, and math.
  • The mechanical engineering syllabus is more than CSE (no time for side business).
  • We have a small family business of steel fabrication and machine building.
  • I can earn $7000 to $15000 per annum in a job after doing Masters.
  • I can scale our family business to any amount.
  • I may settle in the best part of our home town.
I know FLF can't make life decisions for me. But please provide some ideas or questions to think about.
