Hi Fastlaners,

I am an interaction designer who got into tech back in 2016 to become interested in user behavior and design. At the moment, I'm building a pre-MVP prototype for a digital ecosystem that combats sleep disorders to test on a few users.

Being a third-year student at university has helped me gain access to decent resources to perhaps carve my path towards clinical trials.

I want to share insights from my own journey and learn from others over here. In these uncertain times, let's keep each other accountable and take massive action!

Tell me about your fastlane journey.

May the Fastlane be with you!

English please? Aura ring? A Fit-bit competitor?

As someone who has struggled with sleep for 25 years, I'd like to hear more detail.

My bad.

The pre-MVP prototype is an app that makes undergoing sleep restriction therapy (SRT) a few taps instead of spreadsheets that keep getting longer. It's rather low-tech. I want to combine the app with voice experiences like Alexa. That way, people won't have to stare at their screens while going through spreadsheets, timings, and stats like I did to calculate sleep efficiency, etc.

Building a functioning digital system of smart phones, smart speakers, and wearable devices will make it easy automate SRT.

Context:
I grew up with delayed sleep phase disorder.

Aura and Fit-bit is are supposed to be used for sleep monitoring purposes not cure. Quite often, the problem is the body clock, aka circadian rhythm. SRT strikes at the root of sleep disorders. Insomnia patients have massively benefited from SRT too.

The system is based on SRT. It's a low-tech therapy, unlike Aura, etc... SRT is also more predictable than melatonin.

Any struggles in particular with sleep and what have you tried already? I've helped a lot of clients improve their sleep, I might have some ideas that could help.
