Opportunity Cost?

Not sure what to call this problem, but when do you know to upgrade your systems? I know there is no actual answer (and only I can know when is best for me I guess) but looking for some advice.

For example, right now the only way for me to list products is when I'm at my home computer. This ain't going to work forever. I want a laptop (I'll settle for some $50-$100 past generation model) and an Iphone (right now I'll settle for a crappy 1st gen ipod touch).

Why would I like these things?

Because with the laptop I can take advantage of free wifi (eventually just pay for my own connection) all across the city, so that I can list and relist products no matter where I am.

And I'd like the ipod touch so that I can use the wifi for a quick and free way of checking and responding to emails when I'm on the go. (eventually I'll get a bb/iphone/android but no need to splurge right now).

Which brings me to the question, at what point can I afford that?

I'm pretty cash poor right now, so even buying two cheapos for $150 total is a decent chunk of my cash on hand.

Having said that, it would make things easier and more efficient and enable me to sell and interact with customers even more.

I'm thinking just bite the bullet and go buy both. I have so much product to move anyway, and those two items would really allow me to go to the next level.

(I guess I just needed to write out my thoughts to help me think).
