Hey everyone,

My names Dylan, 28, and I'm currently living in Youngstown, Ohio.

I just finished TMF and I really resonate with focusing on helping other people, but I'm struggling to actually find something I believe will impact someone in a big way.

I see a lot of posts here starting with how much $$$ they make instead of what they did to change a persons life for the better.

I signed up for INSIDERS because I hope to find ACTUAL PROBLEMS that people struggle with that won't be some stupid app that sells more BS.

Hope I came to the right place.

-Dylan

That's mistake #1.

You don't need to impact someone in a big way -- just need to impact someone with a positive value skew, so much that they buy from you over a competitor. Value skew isn't explained in TMF , but in Unscripted (which is the better book) -- unless the world is perfect, ideas are abundant.

Hi Dylan.

This is a deep thought, and important to consider for each person I think.
But, it's also highly subjective.

Some people want to make money for themselves.
Some want to make money to change the world.

I think are both equally noble, personally. But regardless of what *I* think -both of those require being very good at business.

People like Warren Buffet, aren't changing the world by making Sea's candy or Geico insurance that directly change people's lives. But, by running a good business (by serving customers well...) then he can use the money he made to do anything he wants. Including giving away billions of his dollars (as he has elected to do).

--
So, a lot of us might say that winning at business and making money - allows each of us to do the most good.
At the same time, by having a big business, and taking care of customers and our staff, we can deeply impact plenty of people just in the day to day grind.

Business certainly isn't the *only* way to make the world better - but, I'd argue few things have improved the world faster.

Welcome to the inside. What did you mean by the above? I think you’d do better figuring out how to spot opportunities than seeing specific opportunities.

MJ has a great line:

“Money is proof you helped your fellow man.”

Who can you help? What can you help them with? Can you do it and get paid?

You kind of have to be a little bit of an economist to be an entrepreneur.

If you start a business on some kind of in-efficiency and mis-allocation then it’s almost hard not to make money.

I highly suggest you become very familiar with a technology(blockchain, AI, 5G) . Then you can take that technology and morph it into a specific product or service. Then you get this massive explosion of utility. This Is how it’s possible to create a new market.

I’ve never been a smart, techy, geeky person but technology is what shapes and evolves our economy. If you wanna be on the cover of Forbes and worth billions, you have to that. And it’s possible because you don’t have to start with lots of capital or infrastructure. You start with your street smarts and book smarts. I wrote this cause it looks like you don’t wanna start a mini-business. LOL
