Anyone who needs a quick little mind tweak...read this blog. I am quickly becoming a fan of this writer. He's a martial artist and a speaker. His name's Martin, and he's a hardcore dude. He tells it like it is. Thought I'd share.

Thanks man. I'm in West Lafayette. I'm subscribed to that guy's blog. It's almost always good reading.

Though it's a nice motivational read I feel I have to disagree a little.

Success in life can simply be seen as the amount of your time that you spend doing what you love to do that either makes you happy or have fun!

This simply can not be, as we are human beeings that simply can not maintain the same state of happiness or fun over a certain time span. Yes, you can try to maximize this, but there is absolutely no way to be happy all the time. Without beeing unhappy, stressed, bored or anything, after a while you cannot be happy anymore. Happiness defines itself from the tension of opposite feelings and without negative feelings there are no positive as well. So this definition is too simplistic.

The other statement, to find and follow your real passions, is good, though. Reminds me of the old saying "Find a job that you love, and you don't have to work for the rest of your life".

I understand. I agree obviously that any healthy human psyche is dynamic. I'd submit that his point is not being happy all the time though. His point is doing what you love. Just a simple post on a simple truth that many of us lose sight of on occasion. Although not written as well as it could be on a technical level, I don't think Martin gives a sh*t about that.
