This isn't about me, and normally my threads are about asking for advice, but I hope some of you may find this interesting.
My brother was a huge heroin addict. Stealing expensive guitars we'd had in the house and cashing in to get drugs, police slamming on the door at 3 A.M. to search his room... technically "Dying" twice and being revived.
After this was over, he started to work in the rehab industry and make a tiny income. He's 27 now, but everyone laughed at him. When friends, family, ect, would ask about how he's doing... it's almost like they wanted to get an ego trip for themselves off of hearing about how poorly he is doing.
Well, time went on and he found a niche for himself in the sports industry that he could do from home.
He still had the job at a rehab center, but still.... people laughed at him.
Fast forward to now. He sends me a text showing me his income for this month. $40,000. I said, "You've got to be kidding me". His hard work has paid off, and in the last 3 months he has made over $100,000.
Still, family members are looking at him and saying - It's too risky! What if it doesn't work! Please just quit and get a normal job.
$100,000. In. 3. months... after being a huge drug addict that his peers laughed at.
How do you explain to a person who is not in the entrepreneurial mindset that, Risk= Reward ?
