That music video made itself to one of my YouTube playlists. Great stuff! Do you know any other ones like it?

This one isn't about overcoming the influence of gangs. It's about giving up drugs, haha. It's what came to mind when I saw that video. Still, it's about choices. Anyways, I don't think I posted it here yet.

For me, one of the things in my life that has always been there when I was down or needed a pick me up or a push, and many times that extra 'kick' to push me that one step further, is music. The messages and moods given by the multitudes of artists are countless, and there are way too many great and outstanding songs with positive and inspirational influence that I'm amazed that nobody else hasn't already started a thread like this here in such a positive and inspiring web presence.

I'm starting this thread for two reasons, the first, to see how many music lovers and contributors I can get to add songs and music that pumps you up, and gets you ready to take on the world. The second reason is to make a place for those to go and get pumped up, who may need a spot to go and listen to something that will inspire and make your path that much clearer. My hope is to eventually have that one tune here for you, whenever you need it!

The first song I'm gonna add is the one song that has always pushed me towards greater thoughts of achievement and innovation. It's message encompasses the entrepreneurial spirit, and strengthens your belief in yourself.

The song: Take Hold of the Flame -by Queensryche

Take Hold Of The Flame lyrics

We see the light of those who find
A world has passed them by
Too late to save a dream that's growing cold
We realize that fate must hide its face
From those who try
To see the distant signs of unforetold
Oh... oh, take hold

From a haze came a rage of thunder
Distant signs of darkness on the way
Fading cries scream of pain and hunger
But in the night the light will guide your way

So take hold of the flame
Don't you see life's a game
So take hold of the flame
You've got nothing to lose, but everything to gain

Ride, to a place beyond our time
Reach, for the edges of your mind, and you are there
See, that the light will find its way
Back to a place where it will stay, make it stay

Throw down the chains of oppression that bind you
With the air of freedom the flame grows bright
We are the strong, the youth united
We are one, we are children of the light

So take hold of the flame
Don't you see life's a game
So take hold of the flame
You've got nothing to lose, but everything to gain

Any of the G-Eazy songs in his newest album "When it's dark out" can do the trick for me! Most of the Eminem songs from the Southpaw movie soundtrack. I have tons of others but these are my favorites.

Nice! I've posted more hardstyle in this thread and others before, the one I posted ^ up there ^ was really soft, haha. So not the best example. The one with DJ Antoine and Timati is a classic for me. I've always wanted to know if after 3:30 the small sample of a song (with the clap and female voice) was a different song. If so, and you know it please tell! :)

In the flesh by Pink Floyd gets me going. I work out to it, do school work to it, relax to it.

Loving this thread! Very diverse.

Stay up, wake up, cake up, get paper!

For some reason, these guys get me to be the most productive I can be. Their lyrics are not positive, but whatever it is, it works. Maybe their bleak outlook encourages a sink or swim approach to life... and I'm not sinking.

I love this track by G-Eazy, Everything Will Be OK.

Especially that last verse is intense as hell, got me goosebumps throughout the whole verse.

Here's the short description aswell as the lyrics for the last verse from RapGenius.

G-Eazy’s most introspective and revealing track brings out the darkest secrets of his life, leaving him naked for the world to see who he truly is. With a soulful and calming hook from Bay Area collaborator Kehlani, a staccato voice delivers a soothing message; no matter what you are going through, everything will be okay.

With this record, G-Eazy brings to light issues with the love of his life, similar to “Drifting,” the betrayal of leaving his brother and city behind as he trekked the globe for fame, and lastly, learning to accept his mom’s relationship with a woman – followed by the chilling story of him losing this woman tragically to depression.

[Verse 3: G-Eazy]
In that first grade class they came and got me
"Your mom's outside, say goodbye now to everybody"
U-Haul was waiting with all of her things
At least what she could pack
In the time my dad's at work and before he came back
Way too young to comprehend what was happening
"Are we going to grandma's?
When are we coming back again?"
Little did I know that we were leaving him by himself
And ten years would pass before Mom sees anybody else
Just us, in middle school I ain't understand
Who Melissa was and why she wasn't another man
Biased and confused they try to explain but nobody can
Wanted what I thought was normal, she had another plan
Such is life, even if it took time for me to accept it
No longer Dad now, but a woman with whom she slept with
Or for the years when a secret was how she kept it
I ain't get it, admittedly I was skeptic
I came around, happiness I see's what you may have found
And that's what's most important
I don’t wanna see you breaking down
I wanna see you smile, I don't wanna see you make a frown
If she loves you, then that's all anybody needs maybe now
By '05 things had gotten worse
Moved to the basement, deep depressions a rotten curse
Hiding in a dark space, her mind and her body hurts
Becoming more reclusive and the pills should have been alerts
So the worse it got, I became more and more afraid
Until one night, I went into that room, on the floor she laid
I shook her she was blue, her skin was cold
She wasn't breathing
Screamed, "Melissa wake up"
Couldn't fathom that she was leaving
Mom and Bro was running down, I screamed "somebody help"
Try pumping her chest, CPR, but it didn’t help
Toughest pill to swallow, but we lost, that’s forced reflection
While in her life you made her happy
Thank you for the blessing

[Hook: Kehlani]
Even if I don't stay
(Even if I don't stay)
Everything will be okay
(It’ll be, it'll be okay)
Everything will be okay
(I promise it'll be okay)
Everything will be okay
(Okay, okay)

When I'm working, I can't listen to music with lyrics. But the Skyrim soundtrack does a pretty good job of getting me in the mood to attack problems like a magically charged pseudo-viking.

Them advanced lyrics though.

DJ Cassidy - Make the World Go Round ft. R. Kelly
