If you’re considering Asia, as far as South Korea and Japan go... unless you’re willing to get married to a citizen there; you’re going to have a difficult time retaining a visa.

The governments want the brains to come and help develop the countries, but they don’t necessarily want those same people to live there permanently.

He will lose them as soon as he enters any large corporate work place.

Are you referring to their liberal stand? it is still hardcore capitalism game in those firm. I have a large network in public accounting and big4.

How is this "woke" movement affecting your everyday lives negatively? Like how bad can it be? Can you give examples?
Can't you just turn off the TV, stop reading news on the internet and live peacefully, or is it so bad that you are affected in real life?
In theory you could do that, yes. I'm happy to let everybody live in their own bubbles.

The problem is that my taxes are financing them and their communist agendas.

Moving to another country is not a solution unfortunately due to stricter exit taxes. 90 years ago Germany used the same thing against jews (Reich Flight Tax - Wikipedia). We all know how that ended. History repeats itself.

Oh and of course today's exit tax is much higher than the taxes against the jews.

There is plenty of opportunity in the UK, but culturally it's not somewhere I want my kids to grow up, the woke laws / politics suck.

Any suggestions of thriving and common sense practicing cultures and locations would be appreciated!
Depends on what factor you are looking at.

If you are looking at Economics and taxes and values associated with that many eastern societies are at the far right of the spectrum. The idea of high distributive tax is a morally alien concept here because you are morally only responsible for your bloodlines. Everyone else is a stranger.

But If you are looking at freedom to badmouth ethnic or religious minority then you are one step closer to getting national security officers knocking on your door.

“STFU and make money”. There are a lot of such business friendly places in the world.

Not currently. I nearly moved myself and my business to Malta a few years ago but then decided against it.

These tax havens sound great on paper, but actually living there is a completely different thing unfortunately.

I actually would like to stay here and still haven't lost hope. But I think Germany (and other western countries) need to hit rock bottom first, before they can climb back up.

IMO that will happen over the next 4 years in Germany if the green party wins the elections this year.

So the current plan is to build a greenwashing non-profit as a front for the actual business to profit from the upcoming socialist government and switch back to capitalist pig mode after they ran the country into the ground.

¯\_(ツ)_/¯

The UK is #7 on the Heritage Foundation Index... The United States, the country that embraced the individual, that declared independence, that became the most prosperous economy in the world... Is now #20 and falling.

You think the UK is a woke shithole? Try the USA! I haven’t heard a political figure talk about small government in 5 years. The real pandemic here is Stockholm syndrome (bootlicker) where people honestly still believe they live in the only “free” country, whatever the hell that means anymore.

We are taxed to oblivion. We get Biden or Trump, a couple of old socialist idiots, telling us what to do, at gunpoint. For that “privilege,” we pay them half, or more, of what we put into this world.

Most Americans are now empty shells of nothingness wandering through life on someone else’s terms, doing what is expected of them by someone more important, never questioning the status quo, and parroting what their slightly different socialist group thinks.

I'm just curious, where I live in Europe the woke movement hasn't spread much and its importance isn't looking to become significant any time soon

I'm a person of colour so it's not about racism - it's being implemented into laws now, people are being imprisoned for twitter comments and memes where I am - be grateful that you are ignorant to the bs here

At this day and age, governments have given the OK for kids and pregnant mothers to be injected with experimental mRNA injections, and are planning on using a "health" passport for daily life, effectively creating a two-tier society but the second tier doesn't have alternative options. Do you trust THOSE people to determine the policies in which you live your life? I don't.

This is a case where I won't argue the argument, since I have to accept the premise that they're trustworthy enough to implement such "laws" about language policing. And I don't.

To @Leron I sadly don't have any concrete advice, but I could offer this distinction: Do you plan on living inside the EU, or outside the EU? If inside, take a look into Hungary. Language is a huge pain but I remember good things about it when I lived there for a year or so.

I was thinking about your post the other day Leron. You see the thing is I am almost 50 and grew up in the UK in the 1970s and 80s when the country was definitely not woke.

Back in those days I was chased by racist skinheads as a child, called racist names sometimes by my teachers at school! The programmes on TV were casually racist, programs like "Love Thy Neighbour" a comedy show about a white couple dealing with the fact that a black family had just moved next door, was one of the most popular programmes on TV and boasted a viewership in the multi-millions.

"Comedians" like Jim Davidson and Bernard Manning had prime time TV slots and their material was 95% racist and the next day at school people would laugh and repeat their catchphrases, calling me things like "chalky" and "coon", asking me how far my dad could throw a spear.

Of course like many black people I had to pretend to find it funny as well, it was that or be in six fights a day. I had to save my fights for the more serious infringments.

The fact is, it was acceptable to be racist and to discriminate against non whites. Then we got PC and "woke" and that shit stopped, or at least retreated to the dark cess pit minds of the racists, they no longer felt emboldened because society at large showed them that it was not acceptable to go out P*ki bashing or shout n*****er on the street.

So yeah, if you won't to move to a "less woke" country and you are not white, well my friend I feel you will suddenly realise that "woke" or "PC" are not bad things. Like anything they can be taken too far and trust me, I've seen some stupid woke shit lately. However the alternative is a country whereby at best you get the short end of the stick just because you happen to have been born with a different pigmentation in your skin, at worst you die.

The end of the 80s in the UK was signified by the killing of black teenager Stephen Lawrence, whose only crime was to be waiting at a bus stop with his friends, when 6 white thugs ran up to him and shouted "what what n****er!" and stabbed him through the heart. That was when we said enough is enough and the PC movement began in earnest.

This is why I suggested you try living in Ukraine or somewhere in the Balkans whereby they still live like 1970s Britain, go there experience that and then you'll see woke aint so bad. In fact the most vociferous opponents of "wokeism" tend to be white right wingers, think about that...

Peace.

This is good advice. It was getting to me for a while. Switching off Twitter, the BBC, and all the papers apart from the FT headlines helped.

Yup, it is. Gives one a seriously distorted version of the world. Most of it's rubbish anyway i.e. you're arguing with a sock puppet in a bot factory in Ukraine.

This kinda makes no sense - it feels like an absolute blessing to me. I'm 27 (London) and I can tell you that the competition feels like it is lower than it has ever has been when I talk to people older than me. My whole generation enjoys wasting time (Instagram, Netflix, Brunch, Tinder, complaining about useless shit) - Just by doing basic stuff like going to the gym, eating healthy, holding down a decent job, working on a side hustle and maintaining a few real friends makes you stand out lol - It really doesn't feel like there are many people competing with you to start a business and live a great life because of this woke stuff, enjoy it : )

Lolz. I thought you loved Trump, went to his house and everything. Wasn't he the savvy businessman that was going to turn America?

Wokeness has been an effective tool for the left to further rock the political spectrum away from the individual and to the collective. Something we, as entrepreneurs, should be very concerned about. Entrepreneurship is one of the most individualistic things one can take part in. My distaste for this tool of the left has absolutely nothing to do with race and everything to do with the cancerous wake of collectivism it leaves in its path.

To answer your question, I hoped for Rand Paul or Ted Cruz in the primary. Just because I’ve been to Mar A Lago a few times, doesn’t mean I’m Mike Lindell.

I have been consistently critical of Trump’s big government, “it’s only socialist when they do it,” hypocrite stuff since the beginning.

The Republican Party, instead of sticking up for true capitalism and freedom…

Believes in high taxes… Just not quite as high as Dem communists

Believes in high regulation of businesses… Just not as high as Dem communists.

Believe in strict gun control… Just not as strict as the Dem communists.

Believe in socialist Keynesian monetary policy, probably to the same extent as democrats.

Believe in fiscal and monetary stimulus. Just a little less than the Democrat communists.

They believe in spending like crazy, but just a little less than the Democrat communists

They believe government is the answer to every problem, but just a little less so than the Democrat communists.

Cut taxes, proclaim how great it is going to be for everyone, but makes up the shortfall with new tariffs and eliminating various deductions… THAT isn’t a real tax cut. It’s making the problem someone else’s.

Perhaps the worst thing he did was allow Fauci to get his claws into America and didn't stand up for freedom and business owners in response to COVID. He was as good as a Dem governor. Nothing about how we, as a country, responded to COVID was “American.” The country of the individual? The country of freedom? Yeah right. Everyone turns into an authoritarian when things get “scary…” And if this is what did it, a disease with a minuscule death rate even for people with preexisting health problems, we are screwed.

I could go on and on, but what we are left with is the party that needs to explain why big government is great, but bigger government is bad. A F*cking ridiculous corner to paint oneself into. No wonder they lose. Woke is wining the culture war.

The Republican politicians that could articulate the virtues of small government are, with the exceptions of maybe 3, long gone.

I voted for Trump with high hopes for 2016 with a Republican house, senate and president. They all disappointed me within 6 months.

I voted for Jorgensen for 2020, who still pisses me off in some ways.

They all disappointed me within 6 months.

But that's the thing! The purpose is not to hope or vote for politics you want and wait to be satisfied like a fat guy ordering an ice-cream.

Your purpose is to set up your life so you don't need politicians, and whatever actions they take have no impact.
