So as I have been reading TMF I brought back up an idea that I had a year or so ago. I was working for a company and automated some of their processes using spreadsheets. These processes are close to the same for every business in this industry which got me to thinking about a software product that I could sell that would do this automation (and more) to sell to companies.
I am not totally unfamiliar with SaaS but what I don't know is how to approach this. I want to test the market and I figured the best way to start is to meet with a few companies and get their input on the software.
My question is what should I have prepared when I go to the meeting? I will not have a MVP ready and I am trying my best to have a wireframe/visual prototype together for the meeting but that may not even be ready. Is a conceptual design enough to go to the meeting and assess the value that this is going to provide for the company?
tl;dr - what is the minimum to walk into a meeting with trying to sell a software package.
