(I'm not even a practicing Catholic anymore, but that phrase keeps repeating in my head. Guess that's how bad I felt. So this shall serve as my confession.)

"If you can’t live on $40,000 a year, you won’t be able to live on $400,000 a year." -
MJ DeMarco

You know, considering I just read that two weeks ago, I would know better right? Nope. At the beginning of November I got a new job in my career field that paid my 5 times as much as my old crappy car detailing job at Enterprise. (GOD, I HATED IT THERE!!!)

So when I saw how much I would be making I was like hey! I'll be fine now for a while! (Never seen that amount of money in a steady paycheck. But then again it's all about perspective.) So I tried to save money but my savings account is refusing to take. Was supposed to call or visit Citibank but kept putting it off. I think I was just enjoying seeing money in my account. I felt like a balla of some sort. (NOT)

So I started really living paycheck to next paycheck spending it on stuff without really thing it through. And then Black Friday, and Cyber Monday came. Between those two, transportation for work, plus buying clothes for a masquerade ball at my job, i went broke. As in the amount in my account remaining was equivalent to one of my old paychecks at Enterprise. Actually less. Even NOT buying everything that came to mind and trying to be sensible about my purchases, I still ended up spending my whole check in about four or five days.

Seeing my final balance was sobering since I realized it's the holidays and I have expenses like gifts and decorations coming up, as well as paying for my car being fixed. So I'm gonna kick my butt into gear to learn how to be financially responsible. I don't want to crash my vehicle in the slowlane before I even have a chance to merge onto the fastlane. I'll start budgeting my income, being more mindful of my spending habits. If I can't do it now, there's no way I can do it when I'm successful.

Wish me luck guys.
