I have had two domains parked with NameDrive for two months now, and I still haven't had any views.

I know this isn't Fastlane by any means, but it's passive nonetheless. How do I get some views? I think one of my names is a very marketable name with good keywords. How do I get some traffic?

If it helps, I'll post the two domains:

1) www.WhyNaturalMedicine.com

2) www.AlternativeMedz.com

I just picked them up while I was browsing domains because I thought they had some potential. I'm very new to this stuff, and I don't really know how it works, but I think I may eventually develop at least one of the domains anyway. Also, mods, please remove the domains if posting them is prohibited.

Thanks.

Actually, my point of view is that parking is mostly for type-in traffic. Meaning visitors type the website in their browser's address bar directly.

I think your best bet would be to setup a simple website there (maybe with wordpress) put some content, perform basic SEO and then put some ads.

Develop for sure! There's a few threads around here on parking I think.

Thanks for the input, guys. My only concern is that if I develop the domains, I'll have to pay for hosting. I'll have to use private ads -- most likely at least -- to be able to generate enough income to offset the costs. I thought there were other ways to generate traffic, but I guess I was wrong!

Thanks for the advice, though.

You weren't really wrong. You could do some bum marketing like stuff, to drive some free traffic. Not sure on the TOS of the parking companies though. But I think everyone would agree your time and endeavors are much better going another route.

Why are you so against hosting? It depends on what you do with them....development is a broad word. Hosting could be like 20 bucks a year. These urls don't fit in with your PLAN?

Well, the first one does mainly. The other one kinda just went along with it and was pretty simple, so I figured that it couldn't hurt to pick it up. I guess hosting couldn't hurt, but I want to make sure that I am going to use the domain if I elect to get hosting. I need to stay focused!

You lost me a bit. So these domains are just extras and you wanted to make a few bucks on them? Or by use them, you mean learn adsense/content sites to link to a main site as well?

They are both part of my Fastlane plan. I'm going to create a site -- or a series of sites -- that all fall under one umbrella: holistic/natural/alternative medicine. The sites will supplement each other, but I'm not sure exactly which domains I'll be using. The ones listed above were just the first legitimate ones that I searched for and found.

That's what I figured. That's why I couldn't understand the whole parking thing. Turn one into a blog and drive free taffic like crazy. Then link to your other sites once you're further along and have them developed, but at least you would get started now. Just be sure of the reputation you create for some, as you may want to change that later.

Yeah, thanks. I think I'm gonna start off with making "WhyNaturalMedicine.com" an informative site about....natural medicine! (Shocking, I know.) Eventually, when I decide to add a retail section, I'll have a foundation to build off of, and I will have accumulated knowledge. I'll have to decide if they're going to be done through one site or branched off into multiple ones.

Thanks for the feedback...rep+++!
