Hi everybody! My name is Andrea and I'm from Italy (actually it would be Andrew in English, since I'm a man and in my country Andrea is a male's name 
).
First of all, be ready for far-from-perfection English
I'm 45 yrs old and I worked as an employee till December 2017, then I quit and started my own business. Back in 2015, after years spent thinking what could I do rather than spending my life on a desk looking at the pc as a zombie, waiting for the weekend to come, among many unhappy colleagues, eventually I started studying thai massage as I wanted to do something that could improve other people health. In 2017 I had the chance to leave my job with some good money in my pocket and opened my own thai massage studio.
This was the first failure as a self-employed... I should have read before MJ's Fastlane so that I would know about the "do what you love" BS... During the first months of my brand new activity things seemed to go in the right direction so I also travelled around the world, from Thailand to the US, from Switzerland to Greece, to study with the most known teachers, improve my skills and provide a better service. And things still seemed to improve month after month for the first 10 months... but then the number of customers decreased suddenly...
At that point, I asked myself what I did wrong so, I thought it was a matter of marketing, of knowing how to sell my service to people, so I started studying marketing, social media marketing, neurolinguistic programming and coaching. I started attending coaching courses.. I found it fascinating and started working both as a thai masseur and as a coach, had great results since the beginning and I still was happy because I had the chance to help people improve their lives...
Then COVID arrived... I spent a lot of money for Instagram and Linkedin consultants and also a landing page designer... I started making videos, posting, blogging... zero results... the tank was full of small fishes looking for something to eat... besides I felt drained of my energies and enthusiasm... I never liked the idea of being an influencer or, even worse, a guru... I'm not that kind of person and I won't ever be... I'm the kind of guy who either stay silent or speak straight... no BS... and this is the reason I like reading TMF and Unscripted ... it gets straight to the point and no BS!
However, back to my story... past summer, after the end of the first lockdown in Italy, I decided I could work on my "magnitude" (a concept I learnt about just few days ago reading TMF) by moving to a place in Italy full of people who drive Lambos and Ferrari and Porsche... the idea was: "earn more with few customers who can pay more, rather than do like other coaches who ask few euros to many customers... provided they find enough customers"... and it seemed to work as well... in the first month I found to customers who paid me respectively 1000euros and 2000euros for 5 and 10 sessions... and then another lockdown... and another failure... the second "do what you love" mistake...
So in January I finished the money I had and my parents helped me just for the time it took me to find a job (about a month)... now it's two months I work as a seller... and I hate it... both because it's another company talking about motivation, leadership and training (haven't really seen any of them up to now and won't ever see any) and because I know I'm still on the Sidewalk...
but... in the last months I also started understanding the different lanes, learning the importance of financial education and studying the millionaire mindset... besides I started talking about a startup project with two friends of mine who already are business owners and like the idea I had to help people... now we're working on it and when I look back at all the failures I see them as life&business lessons... I wish this time I'll do better...
while I'm writing these words I look at one of the sentences I wrote on the walls of my apartment, a sentence taken from "The Last Samurai": "I think a man does what he can until his destiny is revealed to him" and I wish my destiny starts revealing now and it will reveal wealth and happiness
I asked to attend this forum to find freedom, to find my way to help people, to learn, to find mentors, so I take this chance to thank you all in advance for your mentorship because I already know that your threads, your words, your experiences will enable me become a great person and an incredible entrepreneur.
