For those unsure, keep in mind the PR values above are for the home page of those sites. When you add an article, it will be on a new page and therefore will have a PR of 0.

Wow old post! Biz your page will be a pr0 to start, eventually link juice will get passed down from the root homepage but it starts off with nothing since it is a new page, the root index page will pass some authority initially, but it will take some time and links to get link juice flowing to your specific article from the index page.

These PR numbers might be outdated, not that PR means anything to me anymore it still shows an indication of authority and links to these domains.

In my opinion, backlinks from article directories are of very low value / quality (non-context relevant links, sitting on a content farm.) The true power, and actual purpose of article directories...is in syndication. As in, getting your articles republished by others.

Bottom-line: if you're using these directories for syndication, then it can be worth your while for sure IMO.

That is a pretty good list, we use UAW for our article submissions. If done right and dripped over time, you can see a huge jump in rankings. It just takes patience ;-)

I don't remember if his was a bot (we screen several), but he kept putting up irrelevant posts and I believe he is from Pakistan, so the odds of him being a spammer were high. 3rd give away was the profile pic which looked professionally done rather than the self pics most people use.

1. Please don't put someone whole post in your reply - especially if you are only going to add a line or two! (i don't need RSI in my mouse wheel scrolling finger!)

2. If you whole post is a two line way of saying "thanks" please just hit the thanks button! It is much more effective - and it saves me from the RSI thing!

Remember to always post your articles first on your website, let it get indexed by google. Then submit that same article to article directories.

Thanks for such a quality list. But I would add one more to that wtih quality PR than those with PR 3, sooperarticles. I have had some good results so it is worth mentioning...Besides it is quite good to go for a few like articledashboard, go, Ezine, Articlebase and Sooperarticles than exhausting and ending up aimlessly with so many. Some article directories listed above are not to much our benefit....
