Hey there,
I'm a 24 year old from Melbourne, Australia who is sick of working for people - I want to work for myself. I originally started my Bachelors of Commerce (Marketing) but soon realise that it was not for me when there wasn't enough (in my opinion) creativity needed in that field. So instead of that pursuing that, I decided to transfer to a Bachelors of Communication (Digital Media) and double major in in Visual Communications.
Creation
I love creating things, that is exactly why I took hundreds of hours out of my life to study Web Development - I like to have the power to create. Manipulating words and numbers to do exactly what I tell them - "move here", "change that colour to #eeeeee", "display that upon clicking this". Mix that in with my love of Design, it's a recipe to create a better, more beautiful online world.
Business
I like to think I've got quite the entrepreneurial mind to make it a reality - I'm always looking for that next adventure. While, it can fault me because I never let things flourish or maybe I get too bored, too easily - but I'm always down to learn new things and to take what I've learned from those adventures and apply them to what is next.
I want to find a quick, small success in order to fund my next (hopefully) big success. So I started eBay, I bought 100 iPhone chargers and sell them in bunches of 3 for a 300% profit (excluding free eBay shipping). They've been listed for about 2-3 weeks and on Friday I sold my first one! Still at a loss, but my very first online sale too.
Personal
This year, I decided to make a change - I'm going to change my life for better, get rid of those insecurities that have built up inside of me - work my f****** a$$ off in order to kick it in a year or two. While I was fluent in HTML and CSS, I knew that in order to take my Development abilities to the next stage - i'd need to learn Javascript, so I spent $45 on new course on udemy (once again, I know it's free some places) and rehashed my knowledge on HTML & CSS - the impossible has happened - I learned the ins and outs of Javascript (I still suck at it, but for Web Dev - it's not bad).
This year, I've set out goals:
Conclusion
If you stuck around for this quite lengthy read, thank you. I believe everything you do in life is a work of progress, never be satisfied, stay hungry for what you want and never get complacent (think Taxis vs Ubers); there's always someone out there who is thinking up new ideas that could trump yours.
If you're not successful at first - keep going until you are, there's a good quote by a wise man once said "It doesn’t matter how many times you fail. You only have to be right once..." - Mark Cuban.
Stay hungry fellow FLF'ers. See you in Silicon Valley.

This year, I've set out goals:
- To get in shape
- To quit my job that i've been in since 2011
- Pay off my car
- Get braces + pay them off
- Start my freelancing
- And while it's still a work in progress, I have gone to the gym 4-6 times a week consistently since October 2016.
- I haven't quite quit my job, because right now it's keeping me afloat - paying my bills and funding my future business plans.
- My car isn't paid off, but I've paid about $1200 since the start of the year, once braces are off and paid for - it will be much easier.
- I got my braces, thankfully I only need them on for 6-7 months - so they should come off in April-May. They cost me $4500, and as of yesterday marks me paying off $3000 since October for them. Once that is finished, my life will be full of confidence - I will be in better shape than I started - my teeth (while weren't ever that bad) will be nicer and I will be more confident to smile; doesn't hurt that my finances will be better too!
- This is going to happen, it's happening - I've started my Freelancing website over about 3-4 times - but I am happy with what I've come up with so far, one day - hopefully soon; the Freelancing side will be quite busy so I can focus on my studies and Freelancing.
