I'm interested to know peoples' experiences and thoughts with video marketing to build a hype/pre-launch email list.

Specifically:

- I've seen suggestions on here to hire using fiverr.com for testimonial/greeting videos. Any experiences on the quality of the video? How were the conversions for a simple and cheap video like this as opposed to a higher production video?

- If I am marketing an upcoming website or mobile app, which type of video would interest you (or convert for an email list) more: a person talking about the product benefits (no user interaction mockup) or a camtasia-type video with a user-interaction mockup view of the app and a voiceover? Or a combination of the two (e.g. starts out with the actor talking, and fades in the mockup)?
