Is this a good idea?

I am thinking about making a website that works almost like ebay. On ebay the seller gets the upper hand as the buyers have to bid against each other and keep raising the bid. My idea is instead of selling stuff on ebay you would post that you would want to buy items and the sellers would have to bid against each other to sell it. Each bid would have to be lower than the other so the buyer has the upper hand now. How would i get it started with people wanting to buy stuff in the first place?
