Hello everyone,
I've read the two books a few months ago but I found out that there is a forum too only a few days ago.
I grew up in an entrepreneur family in Hungary. I was a small kid right after the change of regime in Hungary (from socialism to democratism - or kind of... but that's an other topic 😀 ) and we were amongst the first few families who became entrepeuners when it became allowed. I grew up seeing and experiencing every positive and negative side of this lifestyle. When my parents divorced my mother became a employee. I learned Computer Science in university and after a few shorter student jobs I started my first company. I developed mobile games and earned money from the in-app ads. My brother did the graphics for me and after a few months I earned enough to live well, support my husband (he didn't work) and give decent salary to my brother. I did this for two years but I burnt out. My husband wasn't supportive, I didn't meet people (big mistake on my side...) because I worked from home and I felt that I didn'tlearn anything new for a long time (it was also my fault).
I decided to get a "real job". I started working as an Android developer in a multinational company. I really liked this job for 6 years (my anniversary will be in October) but I started to feel something is not quite right about two years ago but I depend on this job too much. I will be 32 next week and I don't want to live like this my whole life. (I don't want to waste space to describe why I feel stuck although everyone in my environement thinks it is a dream job and I'm crazy and entitled)
I found the books a few months ago and it immediately described a lot of thougths I already had and explained why I feel burnt out, nervous and stuck.
Now I try to build my company again in my free time, invest in stocks and bonds and do a few extra activities on the side which bring in some extra cash which I can use to improve my company. I hope that I will be able to build something which brings value to people and joy for me (I love the process of game development, marketing, etc). My ultimate goal is to live a life where I have the freedom of deciding how I spend every minute of it.
