My name is David Brooks, and I am the proud owner of Brooks Quality Painting and Contracting. Additionally, I own a 10-plex property that we recently fully remodeled. As a newcomer to this forum, I'm excited to make this introductory post and engage with the community.
Currently, I'm deeply immersed in reading "Unscripted ," and it's been an eye-opening experience for me. It's made me realize that despite my successes, I'm still operating within a "scripted" framework where my time directly correlates with my earnings. This realization has highlighted the lack of efficient systems and processes in my business, which limits my ability to grow, pursue high-leverage deals, network effectively, and spend quality time with my family.
Through my participation here, I aim to document and discuss both the considerations and actual changes happening within my construction company. My objective is to achieve full transparency in these discussions. I'll be sharing insights on my successes, failures, and missteps, with the hope of both learning from and assisting others in similar fields.
The ultimate goal is to transform my commercial painting company into a fully systemized operation. I intend to learn effective delegation, place the right people in key positions, and enhance our customer service and company culture. By doing so, I hope to create a balance that allows for more family time, with the business thriving through excellent systems and teams. Although I don't foresee a long-term future in construction, I am committed to ensuring the company is in its best shape before any potential sale.
