Hi there,
I'm an Australian guy in Sydney obsessed with psychology, stoicism, human optimisation, self-improvement and now entrepreneurship- and a severe case of ADHD to bring it all together. [Sidenote: Am seeking entrepreneurs with ADHD for inspiration and to learn from]
My story (skip if too long)
I've just had the most important year of my life, which is what leads me to you guys, and to an obsessive interest in entrepreneurship. Struggle somewhat with the day-to-day execution so am going to be working to overcome that.
I started off surrounded by people with a fixed mindset who always rolled their eyes when I talked about self-improvement. I was a bit behind in life: studying part time finishing a Psychology degree that has dragged on far too long. I felt like I was going 0.5 miles in 20 directions rather than 10km in 1 direction.
Then, at the beginning of the 2023 I started saying yes to those instagram ads for self-development and entrepreneurship events. I realised at these events I was on fire. My entire brain lit-up, I befriended many people there, and networked and made friends like crazy, and had groups of people hanging off my every word with my extensive psychological knowledge.
This planted the seed that I may have a unique skillset. Then at one of these events, I signed up to a program and made a new best friend (an entrepreneur himself) who I now co-run a small self-improvement lads group with. My entire mindset has shifted... I have so much value to offer the world. Now I'm on the quest to refine my discipline and organization to manifest it into reality.
On entrepreneurship:
At work I've realized I'm good at workshops and public speaking, so I should use my time there to refine that skill.
Entrepreneurship will make everything in my life worth it, and turn my ADHD into a strength, so I want to prioritise it. I've been listening to entrepreneurship content for a while, particularly Alex Hormozi who is perfect for when I start a business... But I have no idea how to get started from 0 into a successful business. That's why I'm here. I think Fastlane and Demarco are the missing link to get started for beginners.
Vision dump section:
Here is a mind-dump of my entrepreneurial visions at the moment. I'm aiming over the next decade to sum into one neat package that all flows together as my brand. Will head down these pathways and refine as I go.
Eg - Sales and workshop presenting career trajectory -> + Coaching business (Journalling + Habits + social skills) - > study of hypnotherapy and counselling qualifications - which scales to an audience -> Counselling to groups of men w/ Stoicism and IFS therapy + hypnotherapy offering -> Workshops of guided meditation (+hypnosis), IFS and stoicism into a single cohesive package,
Niches I want to target are:
= gamers so want to have a tailored offering for them, (fitness + self-improvement skills can be delivered to them here)
= making evidence based therapies more appealing to men specifically, Utilising IFS therapy + combination w/ stoicism and ACT therapy applied mindfulness.
It would be nice to have a habit of content creation as well, but I find it unintuitive and awkward despite everyone saying how engaging a speaker I'd be at it - and I want an option to remain anonymous. However no excuses, I should chuck on a pair of weird glasses to hide face and go at it - kinda like Dr Disrespect.
