Back in December, I paid for the forum subscription and posted my introduction after reading The Millionaire Fastlane —with this ambitious plan to share my journey.
That post ended up being my first… and my last. (I’ll explain why in a minute.)
At the time, I was trying to run two businesses.
One was a physical product business—producing and selling bone broth locally.
The other was selling online courses and doing marketing/copywriting coaching.
Key word: trying. Because honestly, I still have no idea how someone can grow two businesses at the same time.
After reading the book, I convinced myself that I needed to build an email marketing agency—that was my Fastlane.
And the bone broth business? That was the Slowlane.
I shared these thoughts in my intro post.
Then I got the priceless comment from @MJ DeMarco basically saying that an email agency might have been a decent idea… back in 2018. But in 2025, with AI? Things have changed.
Of course, I wanted to hear something else.
Something like, “Yeah, man, you’ve got this—killer idea!”
But hey, this isn’t a cheerleading squad, right?
So I shoved my ego (and my shiny new love affair with the agency idea) where the sun doesn’t shine… and took another honest look at both of my businesses.
That’s when I realized my bone broth business was actually way more Fastlane than the agency ever could be.
Truth is, life had been trying to shove my face into this reality for a while, but I kept ignoring it.
A couple of days after that comment, I made the decision to focus entirely on one business—producing and selling bone broth.
I froze my online business—courses, funnels, tripwires, and an active email list of 1,100 subscribers.
The result?
By January, both my revenue and profits were up 60%.
Coincidence? I thought so at first.
But nope.
In the months that followed, I held that growth—and even increased it.
And all of this came from paying $7 for the forum subscription… and that one comment.
Thanks, @MJ DeMarco .
So if things were going that well, why didn’t I post anything else here?
I think I was just burned out from constantly creating content for the online business.
My emails were very personal—I shared a lot.
So after shifting focus to bone broth, I felt this “content hangover” and decided it was safer to just stay quiet for a while.
What’s changed now?
I’m ready to openly share my journey again—with all the numbers and challenges.
Plus, I want to use this community to help me stay laser-focused on growing my business instead of getting distracted with “fun” stuff like PC gaming (even though I just upgraded my gaming rig).
And, I want to “pay my dues” to the forum and MJ by being an active contributor.
Next step: start my execution journal (I think in the INSIDERS section… still deciding).
Thanks for reading!
P.S. I'm not sure if I chose the right thread for this post, but I couldn't find anything similar to testimonials.
