Hello Everyone nice to meet you,
You can call me No1F, Future, whatever. The meaning behind my name is that there's literally more than one future ahead of us all, if you don't like how it looks ahead of us, change the foundations of your life now and watch how it will change the road ahead of you. I'm not a deep guy, so let's move on.
I started off as a kid with dreams. My mind was filled with inventions, games, and epic stories I've always wanted to bring to life. Over the years, now at age 22, I've done absolutely none of that. After high school I was offered a paid internship with a fortune 250 company. Being 18 years old at the time it seems obvious that I'd take it right? I nice well-paying internship in my hometown. Goodbye dreams. Hello 40 hours of labor and 5-4 classes a term. I graduated in three years with my bachelors and I thought this would be my big break! Haha, no.
Just to put this out there, at the end of the day I'm doing this do try and help improve my environment and the people within it; however in the end I'm only doing this for my own selfishness, I am no hero.
I sit at my desk for 40 hours a week. In compliance with sitting on my butt all day, I'll be making around 50k a year starting next month. I know that I could be doing something more productive with my time. What assets do I have to show for everything prior to this? A car. A computer. Clothes. Emptiness. Before you ask yourself "What is this buffoon doing with this money"? I'd like to explain. My mother is single and has a low income job, father is MIA. Sister is older than me, but pays child support (don't even ask), has a low income job, and lives with us as well. Due to an unfortunate incident involving money and a bank in the past my mother has a record. thus most employers automatically turn her away. Also she doesn't get paid over the summer, so guess who pays the majority of the rent, bills, groceries, etc.? I do. She helps out with as much as she can, I far from dislike her; However I do despise the situation, the bank made the mistake and now she has to live with it. She didn't fight the bank in fear of being put in jail.
In the past, my friends and I sat at the lunch table, conjuring our big dreams and how we were going to make them reality. To this day, none of them have done anything. With my busy corporate career I gave up on my dreams, yet I always supported them and ask them what they were doing. Many of them had part-time jobs and schooling, free time to follow their dreams! When I asked for progress I was given excuses instead. I hear the same excuses now. A part of me wants to attest to these old friends the time they've wasted, but even if I do become successful will they even try? At that point, I will have nothing more to say to them, only bearings to show.
I came across this forum about 2 weeks ago. I knew nothing about the book and all I did was read your progress threads. An archive of extraordinary folk who meticulously built their entrepreneur careers and put them on display for everyone to see. It was the most amazing thing that could ask for.
Current Progress:
At the moment I'm on Alibaba and I'm ordering samples for a customized product that I will attempt to sell. I'm also learning how to make games in the Unity 3D application, I have a great idea for a mobile app game! There are many more things that I want to do and I don't know if I'll get to them anytime soon, but the fact that I began is more exhilarating than anything. I haven't read MJ's book yet, but after this post I will read it at least 3 times. I'm going to continue down this path and do more and more things I've always wanted to do. Once, I make more money than my current job, I will most likely quit. Until then I'm sticking with it, not gonna count my chicks before they hatch. I don't expect to become ridiculously wealthy from these two projects that I'm currently working on, but I will make sure that I put as much value and quality into them as possible, because I want everything that I produce to have amazing potential. To everyone reading, I'm quite new at this and I'll probably be asking plenty of questions that you may answer, so I'd like to thank you ahead of time. I'd also like to thank everyone for their various progress threads that inspired me to take these steps in such a short amount of time after discovering this forum. I've read articles and seen success stories everywhere, but nothing was as influential as the progress and support I've seen here (other than when I see Uber, but I like to think he's supporting people in his own way).
TLDR; Typing 1 sentence that summarizes everything sounds like too much work for me, nice to meet you.
Thanks,
-N1F
