Like every human being, joining a new community (these forums) I would like to present myself as a thinking person. Plus being able to post our thoughts unfiltered to a community of like-minded individuals is a great opportunity to stroke our ego.
"Oh, look how smart I am!"
But what led to the biggest change in my life was when I was so down in the dumps with the job I had at that time that I was able to suspend my disbelief and just learn from a person who seemed to know what they were doing, had great results. Even though what they would tell me sounded asinine to me. "WTF? This cannot work".
In the map of the world that I had at that time, this completely different approach seemed implausible. But thankfully, having literally spent years trying my ways (that didn't work) I hit a rock bottom where I accepted trying something completely looney, something completely crazy, as I had nothing to lose (apart from a little bit more time).
And guess what? Turned out that what this highly successful person in my field of interest did and what they taught me actually worked! Guess who was wrong in the end?
So I am thinking, I should approach these forums with more humility. Listen to the folks who are on here and that have achieved success and especially to the posts by MJ, who so charitably shares everything in the open!
Instead of sharing my "brilliant" thoughts, I should listen, seek advice AND act in new ways. Test new things out.
