How to make an Event successful

I have a concern regarding an event hosting. I don't know how to make guests entertained, enjoyed and relaxed during the whole day.

You are not giving enough details... Why is the event happening in the first place? How long is it? How many people are attending? Who is attending? ...

I'm not following you... So you are organizing an event, but you don't know what /who is it for? Why are you hosting it?
