MarketingSherpa is pretty much a mandatory read if you have any kind of internet business. Marketing Experiments is good too, and the articles are all free. That said, you should be testing, split-testing, and re-testing everything. There are too many variables for solid rules to be written in this business.

Andrew,

I have what may be an unrelated question but since you mentioned testing here goes.

Once one has an idea about a business/website that seems like it might fly, how can you test the idea before going through the entire process to determine its viability?
