Ask people in your niche! I spent $10 on research for a business in my area and not only got tonnes of useful insight plus over 100 emails, which was a bonus

Go to a popular bar on an off night and tip the bartender really well. Then proceed to ask him what people bitch about most.

You could do this with restaurants or coffee shops as well.

Depending on the size of your city, you could see if it has a subreddit ( r/nyc ) and see what people bitch about there.

Check popular tweets in your city to see what people bitch about.

Walk up to strangers on the street and tell them that you're an aspiring entrepreneur conducting market research and ask them what is one problem that they'd pay to fix.
