Cathie Wood is PROOF that ideas are worthless and execution is everything.

Idea: buy the BS stocks straight off of Reddit’s Wall Street bets.

Execution: paperwork, start a fund, comply with SEC, tons of stuff most people on the forum would fail massively at. But again… wtf?!?

So she is charging hefty fees for "expertly picked investments" but is just mimicking automated index funds? Am I understanding this correctly? I haven't studied investing much yet because I'm not rich enough for it to matter.

No, she’s not copying other ETFs. She’s copying the business model. Owning an ETF is not free. Management fees($500k salaries) are adjusted from the NAV.

They promise over performing returns by investing in “risk on” growth assets.

As a retail investor Joe Schmoe, if I have $100k in my Schwab account I can’t start my own ETF or “make markets”. I’m stuck just choosing stocks that already have over valued P/Es and paying all these fees and being long 100,000 Delta.
