How to Figure Out If there is a NEED?

Hi guys,

I want to ask you all how do we figure out if there's a Need, especially when we want to created a Web based business ? After all, we dont need to make a website or any business just to say we got business, we need to know there is actual need!

So, I've been in internet marketing for quite a long time and I know a lot about keyword research, market research,SEO ect.

I want to know do we make keyword research to make sure there is a an actual need (especially when we want to make it the online business world wild) and research the competition?

If we take MJ's limos.com for example, when we go thru a keyword research we can find that there are a lot of different searches and limos.com is ranking in top positions in google so that's how they get most of the free traffic.

~Limos.com is ranking #1 in Google for the search term 'limousine' which according to google keyword tool (based on Exact search count) gets around 80-90 K searches every month! Just 1 keyword and Limos.com is ranking for a lot more~ This all shows that People are looking for limo services and there's a NEED!

So Does keyword search volume is the key that shows there's a Need ?

PS: I'm talking about ONLY Web based business!
