How many consumers do you think there are for every producer?

As someone who aspires to be a producer and on the fastlane I couldn't help but notice there aren't that many people that actually produce. What do you think the ratio for every consumer is?

1 for every 10, 100? 1000?

Even producers are consumers (and in some cases consumers on steroids!) So everyone!

But I know what you originally meant, how many people produce in ratio to those that exclusively consume. I'd guess our estimates would be skewed since we surround ourselves with producer culture, forums, podcasts, lifestyle etc. Another debate is at what point is someone a producer? If I have an IG account with 10k followers and sell a few t shirts now and then am I a producer?

Anyway...

My initial reaction was something like 1:1000 but recognising my own bias (as listed above) I think it would actually be way higher than this. Something like 1:100,000.

Depends on your definition of producer...

A producer can be someone with a job and who contributes to society.

That is probably like 3 producers for every 2 consumers.

If "producers" are entrepreneurs who aim to create massive value, then I'd guess 1 producer for every 10,000.

The U.S. Now Has 27 Million Entrepreneurs

27 million people....nearly 14% of the working population. Sounds extremely overstated to me, but an interesting read regarding your question.
