How do you spend your time

Hi again

As an aspiring entrepreneur who has very limited experience in entrepreneurial type endeavours, I’ve been thinking of other ways I can add value to the members of this forum.

If you had to break down how you spend your time, how would you do it? Once you have broken it down, is this really how you want to be spending your time or how you should be spending your time to reach your goals? Do you have a healthy balance in how you spend your time? How has the balance shifted in how you spend your time since becoming successful?

Hopefully by breaking up your time into these five areas, it can help you asses where you are at and also where you want to be. The five different areas are as follows (if you think I may have left out an area that should be in here, let me know so I can add it in).

Time for Yourself – this would be any time that you spend doing what you want for yourself, whether it be relaxing, exercising, watching TV or whatever...

Time for Your Family- this one can almost be broken up into two parts, your immediate family (mum, dad, grandparents, brothers, sisters, unties ect.). The second would be your own family that you may one day (or already) have, your wife and your own children and perhaps grand children.

Time for Your Friends – This one is pretty self explanatory, its when you take time out to be with the other people in this world that you care about.

Time for Your Work- For me personally, work is anything that I do to move me further forward in the direction of financial independence and freedom. Whenever you are studying, researching, grinding through your job in the slow lane, starting your own endeavours, you are spending time in this area.

Time for Society- This is when you spend your time giving back to the community. It could be helping a lady across the road, contributing to a charity or helping out with an event to help the homeless or whatever . This one usually stays the lowest priority on most people’s list until they reach major success in what they do and their for have the time and the means to give back. I think its funny how when you look at what a lot of successful business men do when they reach the top of their game and have nowhere higher to climb, they get into politics.

I want to add that this is just a concept for breaking down how you spend your time and there are no strict rules to it. For example you could divide the time that you spend studying how to acquire wealth into the “myself” category and or the “work” category depending on how it is affecting your life, same goes if you work with people you socialise with, that could be divided into “work” and “friends”, or if you and your partner are working on acquiring wealth together, but you are spending quality time with each other at the same time ect...

I'm curious to see the difference of how the experienced entrepreneurs divide their time compared to the students. I’ll be posting where my time is managed and how I would like my time to be managed a little later.

Thank you for taking the time to read this, if you have any ideas on how to make this post better, let me know
Cheers
