I’m Marc, 27, based in Canada. I graduated from university in engineering a few months ago.
I work as an assistant project manager in construction. It’s stable and pays well for my experience, but I took it intentionally for cash flow, not as a career path. In parallel, I have a short-term remote 3D modeling contract.
Combined income is roughly 100k CAD/year, expenses are low (~$1,400/month), and I have flexibility to go all-in once I have a business with traction and take calculated risk.
Context :
Over the last 1–2 years, I’ve realized a traditional career won’t produce the outcomes I want. While in university, I experimented with AI-related services (cold email, automations, agents) and failed to get clients.
In hindsight, the failure was due to selling vague solutions instead of solving a specific, painful problem for a defined market. I was chasing money rather than focusing on solving real problems.
My current problem :
Right now, I’m stuck at finding a problem I could solve and turn into a business idea.
I write ideas down whenever they come up, but when I pressure-test them, they feel unrealistic. It’s been about two months and I haven’t committed to anything yet. I know someone with the right mindset in my position should be able to find a pursuable business idea, but in my case I feel stuck.
Current skill set (open to learn anything)
I’m here to learn, challenge my thinking, uncover my blind spots and provide value to other people who need !
