Hey everyone,
MJ's books are some of the best business books I've ever read and I've been lurking around here for awhile.
I'm 31 and I've been bootstrapping my business full time over the last year building software for small construction companies.
Before now, I worked at a couple of Big Pharma companies after college as a low paid lab rat after getting a degree in bio/chem. I realized I sucked at the big company thing and went to work for the family construction business for a couple of years, then I taught myself how to program computers and worked as a software developer at another company for two years.
I've had various entrepreneurial projects throughout the years, but most of them failed or didn't make much money. In the process I learned more about what not to do and the type of business I want to be in.
After learning and improving my programming skills, I decided to combine software with my experience working around the construction industry after I saw a need for a web based software solution for small to mid size businesses.
My goal is to create a small, niche software business that I control. I don't like unicorns and startup hype. I want to build a profitable business that allows construction companies to run their businesses more efficiently.
