At the REI meeting I went to there was a lot of buzz about money merge accounts and HELOC's .

I have looked into this and found out that most people don't like them. But most of those people have never tried them either. Only one guy in the article I read actually paid off his mortgage ahead of schedule without this system and software. I think I was being primed for a sales pitch. This software is even in thier newsletter. Smells like MLM. ITs $3500 for the system.



Although I can see the benefit of the front side of doing this I question the tax benefit on the backside you lose as a result of this.

In absolute dollars how much does this really save?

Psycholigally it could be a blessing that I could have a mortgage paid off in 11 years but sounds like a slow lane way to get rich or at least be finacially independent.
