I am a current small business owner in Klamath falls Oregon.

I'm in the high tech field of computer repair and TV repair and Mac repair and networking plus sales.

I am here with the hopes of meeting some great people that maybe interested in helping me expand my business with a great chance of a high return. I have been in business since 2001 and going strong. But the econ has taking a tole so I am in the market for new ideas and a few I love to express and see if I may have a chance of seeing my business thrive even more then it is now.

Enough of my Blog'n LOL

I hope this does not make anyone one mad since this is why i am here.

If you have any interest in more of what I do and how I want to grow please post and allow me to elaborate more on the topic.

Welcome to the forum Robert. This is a good place to learn business strategies and to brainstorm with peers. However, open solicitation of business is not allowed for new members. I'm going to ban your account because it violates forum policy regarding the use of your website as a screen name. If you think of another screen name, contact forum administration and inquire about re-establishing your account.

You seriously banned the guy? lol

Dang. I thought he was here to network and meet new folks possibly helping out his business. I guess it went over my head.

You seriously banned the guy? lol

Yes, because he used his website as his user name. He's been told that he can request a name change. There have been other members who have been banned for the same reason. You slipped through the cracks, but have proven yourself here to learn. I also appreciate your posts.

The problem is that too many people pop in here under false pretenses, act like part of the community for a while, then launch into their marketing mode. For example, there have been several posts about affiliate marketing in the last week. Since then, we've had 3 or 4 AM people sign up.

I'm not saying this is the case with Mr. Schwarz. In fact, I'm inclined to give him the benefit of the doubt. I just don't think MJ wants business names to be used as a screen name. Otherwise we would have people like Viagradotcom listed as a user. It would be a double standard to ban one and not the other.

If I am misunderstanding forum policy, I will reverse the ban. My intent was for Mr. Schwarz to request reactivation under a different name and then continue on. I'll refer to MJ on this one.

No what you did made sense. It went over my head. haha.

I had to read the thing over and over again to get it. Sorry my bad. I can understand not wanting all the solicitation and junk eating up the site. SM Media, yeah it never crossed my mind. I guess I got lucky. :tiphat:

I understand your concern but I did not even Leave a dot com behind to even lead people to think that was a website now since you are a moderator on this forum you can see my personal info and you can make head's or tails but standard everyday joe's would not think to look for that as a website.

I did no such promoting of my website cause I don't do much as far as internet sales.

But the sensitivity you have taken after I did read the rules I guess this is NOT the area I will be spending my time. I don't like being MICRO-MANAGED.

I will take my leave and wanted to let you all know I'm not a spammer just a small business owner looking for help.

And the name is used to login with Klamath###### (As you can see I still am accepting your rules about spam) was my sign it for most all my account that are related to my business so I know it is my business account and not Personal. FYI.

Thanks and have a nice day.

Mr. Schwarz,

I've sent you a PM explaining my position. I agree that the forum does take an aggressive posture when people first enter. This is to cut down on abuse as you, yourself have acknowledged. It's difficult to screen 100% of people accurately when you have people from all over the world passing through the forum.

You've stated that you don't have an agenda here and I believe you. Please consider this a misunderstanding and stick around. The forum really is a great place once you get to know people.

I would definitely stick around. It wasn't anything personal towards you as a person, just standard protocol. Plus you will learn a ton from these guys. I have asked many questions since I signed up and got many great answers. I think it would benefit you to jump right in and get to know some of the people.

Welcome to THE FASTLANE mate. :urock2:

Understandable Sorry if i press the line was not my intention.

I have a question not sure if this would be in the right place for it.

Not looking to spam. so please just direct me don't band me,

I currently pull in about 65k to 145k depending on the economy.
but i am interested in expanding my business and giving a fighting chance
to stay in business like today was really bad for us, issues

1. Lack of advertising with capital to do so.
2. Not a great location for people to know about us
3. so many ideas and so little money.

My ideas:
1. Computer game room for kids in our area nothing for them to do other then out door things.

2. Train room for adults lacking in computer skills.
bring on more people to satisfy the call and need once we get our funding.

3. bring in more options of sales and services to ALL end users and business clients.

4. we also would lower the cost of the on-site service to dominate the computer industry in this area.

My question now you have a little idea of what im thinking of with out going into a spam of what i do and offer,

I have 2 millionaire folks I want to talk to this next week with a idea of how to hit them with investment possibility.

I Not sure what and how to offer them, Like a percentage of profit from the business and proceeds from the training course? (can be up to 24k per year)

or do we have to sell a part of my business to them and have to consider them silent partner?

how much is reasonable and what is not. i have never asked for money before and i'm a little lost.

I don't want to lose controlling factor of my business, but i need help to expand.

Sorry if this is a idea jumping arround but so many thoughts so little time. I have meeting with one some time next week I confirm friday with one. Any input would be appreciated!

PLEASE don't banned Im not asking for your money just input on a dire need of knowledge thanks. Robert S.

Howdy Robert. Sorry you got roughed up a bit the first day out. I'm glad you joined up though. However, I've got to say, if you let this little misunderstanding stop you from hanging around then I'm not sure how you can handle misunderstandings in business. I have misunderstandings all the time, sometimes my bad sometimes not. Sparlin was just doing what he thought was right to keep our forum clean. That would be a plus for newbies rather than a negative. Newbies would have much less noise to filter out to get to some real help. I experienced the noise on RD forums when I was starting out and it was frustrating.

I hope you reconsider and hang around for a while to see if we are a match for your needs and visa versa. Whether you stick around or not I wish you well.

Edit: Oops you posted while I was typing. Good to see you give it another chance. :)

1. Computer game room for kids in our area nothing for them to do other then out door things.
I think this might be a volatile market, depending on your competition and your location. Nowadays kids carry games with them wherever they go.

What do you think about hosting a Gaming convention that either be regional or national? Make sure you have enough space and equipment, then advertise a tournament style gaming convention.

Convince advertisers to finance a reward(s) for the various contests. Contact industry vendors and allow them to set booths at the convention and invite, what's that channel? GS4? the gaming channel on cable.

This would be a way to test the market, advertise your service, and possibly scale your business quickly. Don't tie yourself down to your present physical location. If where you are doesn't work, find out what it might cost to rent a facility at a large city. If the convention works, it could become an annual event.

2. Train room for adults lacking in computer skills.
bring on more people to satisfy the call and need once we get our funding.
Similar to the other suggestion, make a small and targeted run before using all your resources. Only offer week long camps that address specialties such as SEO, E-coms, Web design, etc. Try to find something that will incentivize your clients such as "Learn to make money through affiliate marketing" or something similar.

These are just my thoughts and not my expertise. Oh, and don't worry about the spam thing. Water under the bridge.

Ok ty for your input, I know this ideas will work I have done it before with my other computer business was successful would have been more if I had more money to buy better
Computers to start with. and I did not have a thief for a partner.

But my question was and is What is reasonable for a Venture Capital investor to see in a return. I have a possible investor and i want to show him I'm not greedy but I'm in business to make money and I need some to expand and take over the area with computer sales/repair and the game room since I have done it all here already and know it will be successful with the right amount money put in.

and then When is a good time frame for "I" to ask for be paying return back at What percentage would be a norm for Venture Capital investment return? and interest involved?

these are what I am looking for answers to.

:thankyousign:

Could anyone with experience in this area address the questions please? Thanks

Robert,

You stated you did this before, but lacked the money to buy "better computers". Out of curiosity what sort of games would you be planning to run on the computers? The absolute newest games online? Or older single player (or even multi-player) games?

These computers would be the only ones needing to be "good enough" (since the training would be more basic training, right?) and depending on your intention for what games they'd be used for would play a BIG role in the cost.

I don't have the knowledge to answer your latest questions, but could certainly give input on the computers needed.

I think you are asking the wrong question -- you should be asking "HOW do I get someone to invest" because frankly the "how much" comes after someone decides to invest. Unfortunately, without a prototype and a working, tangible model, most investors will just shy away. Execution gets funding, not ideas. Show your ability to execute and investors will show you money. THEN you can ask how much? Start the company (bootstrap) and get a tangible working operation ... the money will flow easier.

Train room for adults lacking in computer skills.
bring on more people to satisfy the call and need once we get our funding.
This seems like an idea you can pursue without a lot of capital.

Welcome to the forum.

Also, fill orders prior to manufacturing. Investors will be more likely to invest money if there are a bunch of orders that need to be filled. It reminds me of a current project i am on. The product is good, the drive is there, the manpower is there, but no pre-orders.

Find out how many units must be sold in order for your investor to see their investment back. Show them how many units must be sold to get their return, and then show them how many orders are already filled. Close that gap the best you can.

This would look more attractive

1,000 units must be sold to get their initial investment back
1,500 units must be sold to get their return
850 units are pre-ordered

This would not look very attractive

1,000 units must be sold to get their initial investment back
1,500 units must be sold to get their return
0 units are pre-ordered
